Actually, I heard, the first misstep was conversing with the evil one. Bargaining, dealing with the Yetzer Hara is almost always futile and fatal. She should have about faced immediately.

You know, like in a heated conversation (to put it mildly, rant or storm is the real word), one side says yes- do it, so I ran and did it. Then the other side comes swinging no- don’t do it, so I ran and undid it. Then the first side come back full force (foaming), of course do it, so back I ran and redid it. btw, I humbly beg to differ with you. I think there are a lot more positive character straits that are unique to us. I think there’s a Gemarah somewhere that says about umos haolam ???? ??? ??? or ????? ?????? and the like. About Yidden I think it says ????? ?????? ?? and many more. So there’s more than just those three. – just my humblest opinion.
See! I indicated there’s not such word for it. All they can come up with is negative ones (not begrudge..). There is no ‘musag’ of it by the umos haolam. (it may be praiseworthy, only Yidden do it)

To me it is inspiring to hear (read) about how Gedolim used their great capacities (mental, emotional, spiritual) for Avodas HaShem and to help another (also Avodas HaShem).
