jl: “THe fact that he had no Busha was disturbing to me, (maybe he’s a ger, or a bt without proper upbringing) and again the way the public reacted.”

OR… maybe he’s FFB and mentally ill, or FFB with a raging anger management problem, or FFB and willing to abuse his daughter to prove his loyalty to his (2nd? trophy?) wife, or FFB and a narcissistic psychopath. (I guess that comes under “mentally ill”)

    cv”s, of course.

My dad took me to a HS parking lot when I was 15 and taught me to drive on a stick shift. We went during the winter and he used the parking brake to put me into skids so I could learn to recover from them.

If your daughter/wife is a bad driver, it’s your own fault. Teach her/get her lessons, or start doing her errands yourself. One day of carpool and you’ll be begging her to take over.

It’s called the Boro Park Stare (BPS). It is a shortcoming on the parents’ part that they don’t admonish their children not to stare at people. Someone once told me that they stare back at their shoes like they see a bug, and sometimes it gets them to stop…

It is indeed incumbent on men to be just as tznius as women. We can’t have purple hats in a black hat community, can we? That would be attracting attention, and think of shidduchim! Who wants a son-in-law with a purple hat?

    Aries, LOL…

I wonder, is the burqa really too goyish? Because the best thing would be to have a signal men can receive in their peripheral vision that what’s there isn’t supposed to be looked at, so I wonder if the muslims don’t have the right idea.

Sunglasses are just as important in the winter, when the brilliant January sun is reflecting off the snow that won’t melt off until May. Besides, if you burn your retinas, it’s going to attract more attention, what with walking slowly, using the cane with the red tip (why don’t they come in black?) and not knowing if the thing you just touched with your cane is a fire hydrant or a man’s shoe cv”s…

A typo here and there can be forgiven. We have been typing on computers much longer than we have been texting. When you have a whole keyboard in front of you, there’s no reason to type as if you have press keys 8 times just to spell “you”. “U” is 2 eights on a phone, so just go for 3 and type on “you” on the keyboard. Also, backspace is only one keystroke. Is it really that much more effort?

PMTCI, Here is how your post read:

“Was curious what the Coffee Room has to say about…

    […]

Sounds crazy!! But unfortunately very true.

    Your opinion??”

You asked for opinions and you got them, but didn’t like them and decided you were being attacked. It seems like you were looking for agreement rather than opinions…

I did not get that Aries was condescending in her posts. In my opinion (FWIW) she seems to know what questions to ask. And you never did answer all of them…

    And that’s my 0.02…

I usually think of things to say after the fact, but maybe you could have said “omgosh, did you know that’s a fridge, not a freezer? Maybe you didn’t realize…”

If you get the Mars look, “It’s going to melt in there.”

It’s not a judgment, it’s just a statement of fact.

The things I would do over have more to do with how I handled dysfunctional family relationships, though.
