So what exactly is freaky about a shaved head?

Could “fuzz” be considered less than a tefach?
wanderingchanaParticipantOP, could you define “NOT out-of-towny”?
wanderingchanaParticipantI kashered my house for Pesach this week.

wanderingchanaParticipantDr. Seuss, yours was up and done when you posted, right? Mazel tov!
wanderingchanaParticipantMy daughter would tell you what a great camp Sternberg is, but she’s not allowed in the Coffee Room. (cough)
wanderingchanaParticipantThe chosson should tell the kallah, in order to stay within my budget I can get you a X carat diamond or a bigger CZ. Let her decide if she wants bigger or real.
wanderingchanaParticipantIf a woman’s place is in the home, how is she supposed to support the entire family so that the husband can stay in Kollel?
wanderingchanaParticipantSorry to hear that, Middlepath. You gotta do what’s best for you, whatever that is…
wanderingchanaParticipantForrest Gump started it!
wanderingchanaParticipantTums: OOT is NOT lifeless. Perhaps those who are OOT don’t need Tums so much because of the quality of living.

FWIW, the people in NJ who aren’t from Brooklyn can spot the ones who are, sometimes from several feet away.
wanderingchanaParticipantI miss Haifagirl…
wanderingchanaParticipantjl: “THe fact that he had no Busha was disturbing to me, (maybe he’s a ger, or a bt without proper upbringing) and again the way the public reacted.”
OR… maybe he’s FFB and mentally ill, or FFB with a raging anger management problem, or FFB and willing to abuse his daughter to prove his loyalty to his (2nd? trophy?) wife, or FFB and a narcissistic psychopath. (I guess that comes under “mentally ill”)
cv”s, of course.
September 5, 2011 5:46 pm at 5:46 pm in reply to: Going around barefooted or without shoes on at home #805943wanderingchanaParticipantI love reading the things people post here…
wanderingchanaParticipantMy dad took me to a HS parking lot when I was 15 and taught me to drive on a stick shift. We went during the winter and he used the parking brake to put me into skids so I could learn to recover from them.
If your daughter/wife is a bad driver, it’s your own fault. Teach her/get her lessons, or start doing her errands yourself. One day of carpool and you’ll be begging her to take over.
wanderingchanaParticipantOomis, wouldn’t that be a worse problem for men?
wanderingchanaParticipantIt’s called the Boro Park Stare (BPS). It is a shortcoming on the parents’ part that they don’t admonish their children not to stare at people. Someone once told me that they stare back at their shoes like they see a bug, and sometimes it gets them to stop…
wanderingchanaParticipantStick around, aries. 🙂
wanderingchanaParticipantYes, thank you, and thanks for posting this!

To everyone… just glad you’re here. Good Shabbos, and stay safe during the storm!
wanderingchanaParticipantWell, you do have a point. No one is forcing me to post here…
wanderingchanaParticipantyahud – what?
Adorable – she is not the only one here who is driven crazy by typos!
wanderingchanaParticipant- I love this thread. you guys rock! now wheres the queen speller who knows how to fix all our mistakes and make us all nuts
I’m filling in for her temporarily.
wanderingchanaParticipantIt is indeed incumbent on men to be just as tznius as women. We can’t have purple hats in a black hat community, can we? That would be attracting attention, and think of shidduchim! Who wants a son-in-law with a purple hat?
Amazinggirl – prepare now for a future of proper grammar and spelling. Moshiach is coming!!
wanderingchanaParticipantootinny,
The Verizoner Rebbe shlita’s followers are machmir on proper spelling and grammar, even when texting on Verizon phones. The Tchnobler Rebbe shlita, not so much.

wanderingchanaParticipantI’m giving Haifagirl this thread off…
I think Deiyezooger meant lightning. Lightening happens late in pregnancy. One letter really does make a difference, but would be untznius for me to explain why.
Disclaimer: No sunglasses were worn in the typing of this post.
wanderingchanaParticipantAries, LOL…
I wonder, is the burqa really too goyish? Because the best thing would be to have a signal men can receive in their peripheral vision that what’s there isn’t supposed to be looked at, so I wonder if the muslims don’t have the right idea.
Sunglasses are just as important in the winter, when the brilliant January sun is reflecting off the snow that won’t melt off until May. Besides, if you burn your retinas, it’s going to attract more attention, what with walking slowly, using the cane with the red tip (why don’t they come in black?) and not knowing if the thing you just touched with your cane is a fire hydrant or a man’s shoe cv”s…
August 24, 2011 3:50 pm at 3:50 pm in reply to: Life Coach: Pros and Cons (squeak vs. aries) #801565wanderingchanaParticipantLet’s not and say we did…
wanderingchanaParticipantA typo here and there can be forgiven. We have been typing on computers much longer than we have been texting. When you have a whole keyboard in front of you, there’s no reason to type as if you have press keys 8 times just to spell “you”. “U” is 2 eights on a phone, so just go for 3 and type on “you” on the keyboard. Also, backspace is only one keystroke. Is it really that much more effort?
August 24, 2011 3:35 am at 3:35 am in reply to: Divorced and Remarried Woman–didn't cut her losses #801458wanderingchanaParticipantPMTCI, Here is how your post read:
“Was curious what the Coffee Room has to say about…
[…]
Sounds crazy!! But unfortunately very true.
Your opinion??”
You asked for opinions and you got them, but didn’t like them and decided you were being attacked. It seems like you were looking for agreement rather than opinions…
I did not get that Aries was condescending in her posts. In my opinion (FWIW) she seems to know what questions to ask. And you never did answer all of them…
And that’s my 0.02…
wanderingchanaParticipantTall from side to side…
wanderingchanaParticipantDefinitely, 100%. The reverse also happens – try to stick with music that brings back good memories for you.
wanderingchanaParticipantI’m shocked no one has guessed Joseph yet…
wanderingchanaParticipantI’ve had both, and I have to say that kidney stones can have sharp edges, while babies typically don’t. Ouch.
August 16, 2011 2:45 am at 2:45 am in reply to: 8 year old boy taking Hilary Clinton to court #797854wanderingchanaParticipantDoes this lend credence to Popa’s having multiple identities?
wanderingchanaParticipantRefuah shleimah!
wanderingchanaParticipant… and yes, I realize the alef beis doesn’t transliterate exactly, but there are still conventions that can be followed…
wanderingchanaParticipantWhat does Nd mean?
And I couldn’t even read that comment. It’s too much work to parse a word I don’t recognize as misspelled English, transliterated Hebrew, misspelled transliterated Hebrew, transliterated Yiddish, or misspelled transliterated Yiddish.
wanderingchanaParticipantNope, no apostrophe.
wanderingchanaParticipantI usually think of things to say after the fact, but maybe you could have said “omgosh, did you know that’s a fridge, not a freezer? Maybe you didn’t realize…”
If you get the Mars look, “It’s going to melt in there.”
It’s not a judgment, it’s just a statement of fact.
wanderingchanaParticipantIf someone knows me well enough, they could figure me out from my posts. But it would take a lot of effort to string a lot of posts together. Dunno if it’s worth it!
OTOH, I don’t think I’ve posted anything to be horribly ashamed of, although my preference is for not being outed…
wanderingchanaParticipantThe CR isn’t like a government, it’s like the media.
Oh, wait…
August 10, 2011 8:47 pm at 8:47 pm in reply to: What would you like to be when you grow up? #1045022wanderingchanaParticipantI wish I could have gone to seminary in Israel.
(I wish I could have gone to seminary).
I wish I could have gone to grad school right after undergrad.
The things I would do over have more to do with how I handled dysfunctional family relationships, though.
wanderingchanaParticipantMy brain doesn’t know from the 3 weeks. I’ve got some tune or another going through my head constantly.
wanderingchanaParticipant(Unless you are, that is…)
wanderingchanaParticipantKnock 3 times on the Coffee Room logo on the top right, and if someone answers, the secret password is “I’m Not Joseph”.
