Klach- no, you don’t have the responsibility to follow Minhagim if your family/Rav doesn’t follow it. But you have a big responsibility to respect the Minhagim of other, and not ridicule and knock them, like some posters here tend to do.

Klach- there’s another saying that “minhag yisroel, TORAH”. I’d rather take the safe side, since my family doesn’t eat Gebrochts.

The point is only, that when someone holds from a Minhag that you don’t, just respect it. Respecting it doesn’t mean following it.

Yenta- you have a very good point there. But I think a boy/girl starts feeling “old”, when all their friends are already married and they’re still single.

think the debate stems from the verse in Leviticus 22:14 which states “Thou shalt not eat gebrochts on Passover”

That, in my opinion, is poking fun of the root of a Minhag. Pardon me if you wrote it in extreme innocence.

Also, your story about Gedolim and Matzah ball in their window….

Our Gedolim know to respect Minhagim that OTHER GEDOLIM set, even though they don’t follow that specific minhag.

To the OP- while stealing from a company in this manner is terribly wrong, your company is causing part of the problem by offering free shoes just like that. You MUST ask for the customer to mail back their old shoe to you. Otherwise, you’re begging for trouble. You’re basically doing it to yourselves.

Wolf- stop listening to every dumb person’s Shtussim. Why are you even bothered by him, when it’s obvious that he’s got problems himself? No decent person knocks others like that. Please!

Goq- your words were completely against the Torah. I would like to know which mod approved your terrible comment.

You said you understand the pain of infertility. Imagine a mother of an only child, who is trying desperately, and failing to have another, reading your painful comment.

(No, this is not to imply that 14 kids should be the typical family.)

Goq, of course men in these situations have it very hard too. I have a neighbor who was childless and the wife was always so upbeat while the man was always walking around with a gloomy face. I guess it’s just that usually the men COVER UP better(doesn’t mean their problem doesn’t exist), and women give it out more.

My heart always goes out to childless couples as a whole, and chas vsholom not only for the wife. (Especially that he has to put up with his wife in a bad mood all the time!)

The Goq- these suggestions are for the couple as a whole. We just keep saying “she” because woman are more social and can therefore have more challenges with people saying wrong things, and because generally, women are more sensitive.

In any case, “she” means “they”!

There’s nothing to say, and you shouldn’t say. Just act normal. That’s what she wants.

DON’T make her a Nebach. She’s not a Nebach. She’s just going through a very hard Nisayon.

Don’t ALWAYS talk about your kids, but don’t keep that subject taboo either. Kids exist in this world and that woman knows it. If you try to make believe that children don’t exist, then YOU ARE HURTING HER. She will realize.

It’s ok to tell her when you’re pregnant, and no, don’t leave it for your 7th month. Tell her early enough.

Don’t tell her what an “easy” and calm life she has without kids, or how much free time she has, or how hectic your life is with kids.

And of course, always be there with a listening ear and just listen and listen and cry along with her.

Funny, we dont eat most of the foods mentioned here, and I didnt even know they’re extreme! Im so used to it I guess!!

I can’t imagine why people complain that there’s nothing to eat Pesach, if you do eat all of these!

About stuff falling on the floor-what do you do? We discard of any food that fell, and any cutlery that fell will not be used on Pesach anymore.

Bored in office- there’s a separate Issur to have Chometz in your home, even if you don’t eat it. Otherwise we wouldn’t go through all that work to clean. We would only refrain from eating bread for 8 days!

You should check all your toiletries, skin care, and cosmetics that they’re Chometz free.

I’m married a couple of years, but before my wedding I begged my Mom to take fake flowers instead of fresh. I didn’t see the point in spending the $$, when you can get such beautiful silk flowers today. I ended up having real, they were magnificent, but I couldve done without that!!

Another thing- one man band instead of more men band.

Also invitations- I think they’re a pure waste. I think for my own children IYH- I’ll send small little post cards in the mail. WHY do we need more than that?
