What about Dina Dimalchusa Dina- the law of the land says it si not permitted which makes it an Halacha that cannot be violated. Copywrited stuff is not allowed to be duped or given to those who will copy it. It’s the law… the laws! Isn’t it??

My kids were on scholarship and we kept a record all the years. When we came into some Yerusha money we made donations to the schools to “repay ” the scholarship. Not a bad plan so we can feel we paid and Yeshivos can be forced to raise less…… and not for me!

I wish people would exercise bechira without having to be so public about it. If the lifestyle is not for you, drop it, leave it, abandon it. But why publicly bury a system and life which provides so greatly for so many? Thew divorce rate among chassidim is of the lowest in any civilized nation. It works tremendously for those who are part of the system. Don’t like it? Leave! But don’t try to take the system with you!

Is the Bosch made in Germany??

If it is, do you feel comfortable making Challos for Shabbos Kodesh in a machine made there? Over 30 percent of the country are still nazi sympathizers….do we need to support them?

I recall years ago that frum people were buying a gagenau oven from A&B appliances and put on a different name plate to hide the fact that it was german. I am appalled that people who have a bit of a neshama would still feel OK to eat chicken, challos and kugel baked in a GERMAN MADE OVEN!!! APPALLING!! I wonder on who and how they perfected their technology… have we no pride?????

GOQ I wasn’t aware fun and meaningful are exclusive. My friends had the best Bain Hazmanim doing kiruv work in SEED and SEED like programs. My Talmidim LOVE working with Camp Simcha kids all year long They look forward to do it even on VACATION! Many I know enjoy being clowns and entertaining in hospitals and nursing homes.

They say it is tremendous fun.

I’ve seen it done without revealing futures or “prophesies” I’ve done it with a few neighbors children. Gedolim have witnessed it and agreed that it is real, but one must know how and when and for what to use it. Rabbi Wachtfogels family has used it with his son.

A Yeshva in Eretz Yisroel uses it to teach and to learn with adults who are autistic.

Play ball, excercise, tutor a weaker Talmid, help at The Center, pack for Tomchei Shabbos, visit kids sick in the hospital and lighten up their lives, visit a home which has a sick child or parent and take the healthy ones out for a few ours, say Tehillim, learn Mishnayos, collect for aniyim in Eretz Yisroel, shop for shut ins, make phine calls to shut ins, interview holocaust survivors and video it…… not enough yet? You should be able to make a great shmorg to fill out time…. eternally as well!

A Gadol once directed me to ask parents in this situation to clarify to themselves and in in their hearts and Tefillos. Do I want a child because I want or because I want to be zoche to partner with Hashem in raising a child to live a life of Kiddush Hashem.

Which is more likely to be answered in the affirmative?

Squeak. Thanks for reading. its always nice to know someone out there cares.

Rebbis salary is about 50, take off 11G for health (Gruss foundation pays 8 for us)

take off 1g for 1 mil term life (chiyuv!! wish I could do more)

take off 22 G for tuition. yes Rebbi rate is about 75% of full tuition and I don’t have 8 kids in school

take off 19 G a year for mortgage, 5 G for utilities and of course I need to work nights and summers. food an clothing, car and ins. etc….

But I also need to be “involved and immersed in learning” otherwise I cannot be a good in class Rebbi or out of class example. It is tough to balance finances, and own family needs. I enjoy every waking and sleeping moment (the 4 hours I actually get each night) and I would not trade it for any other job. but in this world the financial pix is hard, we are deep in debt that one day, hopefully can be covered by the sale of my house, and I still would pick this over anything.

At the same time, I wonder what would be if indeed we were paid a living wage commensurate with our training and the hours per day and days per week. What wopuld be if I didn’;t have to be calling gmachs each month to cover for another delayed paycheck. What would be if living frugally with no vacations, I was able to match expenses to income. I would imagine I could be a better, more patient, better prepared Rebbi. I imagine I would learn more and know more and give over more to our children. I imagine I would have the koach to invite Talmidim for Shabbos and Motazai Shabbos programs more regularly. I imagine there would be less stress to deal with at home and therefore more yisuv hadaas in all areas of life. I could even dream about “learning in a kollel” for the summer since the 70 days of summer are really all my Sundays and holidays of the year piled up minus Chol Hamoed, plus normal vacation allowance. How special that would be for me and for all who look to mechanchim to teach, lecture, consult and inspire.

    I will dream on. Happily.

One final feeliong. Don’t reject my daughter in shiduchim because she comes form a home with no extra resources.

1-If I have school on Sunday I cannot go to My bio childs play on Sunday. I muct be in my own class

    2- A therapist earns 100+G a year, A Rebbi less than half

3- A therapist can add or subtract hours, a Rebbi cannot

4- there are no medical benefits or pensions so a Rebbi must work extra just to make ends come close

5- A therapist gets paid for every outside lecture, speech, workshop. A Rebbi is expected to speak at simchos, give shiurim in shule, speak at various learning programs and other venues and is expected to fill the Chazal of just like I taught for free you should too. And I will. I feel it is a calling….. a mission But you should not take advantage of my calling.

5- I am not complaining. I would not change professions for any offer.

I guess I should ask my childrens teachers to make it on Erev Shabbos in the afternoon or Chol Hamoed……

We must also be mindful of the Kashrus status of medicines, especially liquids. Many are sweetened with glycerin, treif flavors to make it desirable. That is a major problem especially if it is not life threatening issues. There is not blanket “heter” that if it is medicine it is OK

1- Sometimes there is another brand or non brand which accomplishes the same which is not problematic. The one is absolutely obligated to use the better one.

2- Sometimes it is absolutely necessary and we need to take away the pleasurable taste.

When we daven for the right shidduch we daven that Hashem should send us the right one and we should recognize and feel it. If it isn’t the right one we should be protected form making the wrong decision.

Please Hashem put the feeling in my heart, please bring us together if it is the right one and protect me form falling for the wrong one.

If we really say it and mean it, then when we get a “not for now” reply we are grateful for the Hashgacaha pratis of Hashem that protected me.

????? ???? ??? applies here too. If it was not for a lack of effort on your part and you are happier and learning better, growing more and working harder to peel away your own layers to get to the real self with the newer Rebbi, then you have made the right decision But if it out of any sort of laziness, or lack of desire to be honest with self, then you need to reconsider. It is not just about being happy. It is about doing and growing in Torah and avodas Hashem.

BTW, did you try to have a heartfelt conversation during a quiet time and place to give him a sane moment to contemplate and explain?
