Sure.
I do not think a married woman should be less careful about her interactions with a man than a single woman should.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI actually think clothing is one of the best things to classify people by, since it is totally the person’s choice, and people associate with groups through clothing.
You just need to be careful that it is actually something that is only associated with that group.
Especially if there are other classifications readily available.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhy does it bother you?
Maybe think about that, and that will help.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantThe gemorah that I learn goes by majority not by who is greater as you suggested before.
The majority of rabbis are reform and conservative.
This question was asked to an amora, if I recall. (That we should follow rov of the world who does not keep the torah.)
Anyone remember the answer offhand?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOh. My bad.
Mods: Please correct my post to say “the gedolim of the past 48 years”.
Every Jewish child knows that you are supposed to follow the gedolim.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantAs a broad generalization- yes.
However, there are much better ways to know much more.
For example, what yeshiva he is in.
And within yeshivos, the shirt often makes little difference.
(of course, if he’s wearing colored in Lakewood…)
popa_bar_abbaParticipant?? ?????
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI can fit 3 fingers into one nostril- without a tissue!
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhat think?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOnce upon a time there was a chain saw murderer. He killed lots of people. And ate them. Until there were no more(no more chain saws.)
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think you are misreading my first post.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantActually, people who are ambidexterous have only the motor skills that we all have in our weaker hand.
They just don’t have a strong right or left hand.
That is why they usually have awful handwriting, and are uncoordinated. We could also learn to write badly with our weak hand, but there is no reason to.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantmajority of the rabbonim in brooklyn allow it. (I’m only counting those who made a firm decision about it)
I’m convinced now.
popa_bar_abbaParticipants2021: The opposite. It is the same.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantAfter I got married I figured it may be OK…(not sure why, but thats usually how things work right?)
I know of nothing which is more muttar after you are married.
Except things which have a direct relation, like the heter of ???? ????, which is only possible if you are married.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think approving the eruv de-legitimizes a rav, and I would not rely on him for anything.
(And if you name names, I’ll keep on de-legitimizing, so don’t try me.)
And I don’t know if it is muttar to be mazik to prevent chillul shabbos, but if it is, I would personally vandalize it. (And I wouldn’t even spray paint pictures. Hey, do you think it’s the same people?)
popa_bar_abbaParticipantGood. Cold weather keeps the pritzus off the streets for longer.
(I figured someone had to say that, and apparently the usual suspects were not clever enough.)

I guess. Although, I didn’t even think he was christian, let alone jewish.
March 31, 2011 8:20 pm at 8:20 pm in reply to: Bochrim Spray-Paint Over Not Tzniyus Advertisement #760024popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhy don’t you call and ask.
March 31, 2011 7:55 pm at 7:55 pm in reply to: Bochrim Spray-Paint Over Not Tzniyus Advertisement #760021popa_bar_abbaParticipantSure, 202-456-1111
I know that’s not a Brooklyn number. Maybe it is an internet phone?
Mods- I have permission to post this.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI was at a speech yesterday, and the speaker mentioned that when he was in law school, he took a Tax course, and never went to class or read the statute, but he got an A on the exam.
So maybe just try that and see how it works out.
March 31, 2011 6:43 pm at 6:43 pm in reply to: Bochrim Spray-Paint Over Not Tzniyus Advertisement #760018popa_bar_abbaParticipantI’m still waiting for the name of the rav who approved of this action either before or after.
Rabbi Menachem Friedman. He is the Rav of the Aguda of E. 23rd.
You can call him and ask him, his number is in the phonebook.
popa_bar_abbaParticipant????? ???? ??? ?????
popa_bar_abbaParticipant?? ??? ??? ?????
popa_bar_abbaParticipantIf you rely on the Eruv, you can rely on the backup.
I was thinking of saying that, but I don’t think we really need to consider people who rely on the eruv ????? ???.
I like to think they are ???? ?????. Some clown misguided them into thinking it is legitimate.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWe all know she is using drugs already. I don’t really think that is an appropriate surprise anyway.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOops.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOy. Nothing worse than being in an American Beis Yaakov high school.
They work these poor kids out of their minds, and they don’t even have a mitzva to learn.
Ridiculous.
Popa says: Forget the navi, and tell the teacher to jump off a cliff.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI went for 8 years. I loved it.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantIf you are getting parsonage, then you can double deduct it, by deducting it from AGI “above the line”, and then deducting it from taxable income “below the line”.
It is a ?????? revenue ruling. 87-32
March 31, 2011 12:10 am at 12:10 am in reply to: Girls out of Seminary how do you keep "shtark?" #754169popa_bar_abbaParticipantAHH. A good old WIY thread.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantCool. Who is writing that?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantMy family has a minhag to never be milchigs on pesach.
I think it is a zecher for blood which was red as red meat.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think you are pulling our legs.
I can pull up my profile, and even edit, but it only lets me edit my email address and password.
Now, we know the mods can change how you appear, since they changed bpt, and also the fake popa that I made when I was blocked in december.
But regular members can’t do that. Where is the option?
You must have a mod co-operating with you.
popa_bar_abbaParticipant“????? ???? ????”
While he was doing shnayim mikra.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantAnd for the record, in the other thread, I never called the second one popa_bar_abba. I called it something similar, and the mods changed it to my exact name.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI am reading this thread, and I don’t know who I am anymore.
I am having an identity crisis.
Can one of me say something absurd so I will know it is me, please.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantIn that thread, I made the second popa to complain about being blocked.
I purposely made it clear that it was me.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantblocked: you cannot access the coffee room at all
I have been blocked before.
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/tefillah-1#post-182804
If you sign in, it blocks you from even reading. So you just close your browser and reopen without signing in. Or make another screen name.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantBina:
Don’t worry about it.
He is almost certainly already back under several other usernames.
Do a quick search for “Joseph” in the CR, you can do a search on from the post which is stickied on top.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantIs that really so? I never heard you can’t bake it?
Why not? If you don’t make it wet?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantpopa_bar_abbaParticipantThe reason matza tastes bad is because it is stale.
Put it in the oven for a few minutes, you will be amazed.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI agree with health
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI like when the argument gets to be about who is greater.
Well, welcome to Judaism, baby.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantBecause they should just say “treif food” or even “treif sandwiches”.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantThere are plenty of Rabbonim who allow it so there is no clear answer.
I don’t think we can say there is no clear answer.
The ones who assur it are far greater than the ones who allow it. Nobody should use it. Even if their personal rav allows it, they should be machmir like Rav Moshe, since he was so much greater, and felt so strongly.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantitchesrulik:
Maybe you mean with food that you declared would be assur???? ???? ????? ???? ????? ????? (nedarim 11b)
I think the OP’s point was that the CRC specifically talked about meat sandwiches which implies that ??? ?????? would be ok.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantAnd what if they have treif cheese sandwiches?
Or trief yayin nesech?
Or treif ?????
Or ???? ?????
What is the difference if they are meat?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think dry wines have lower sugar content.
Also, get a small cup that only holds a ??????, and only drink ??? ??????.
It will only add up to about 8oz for the night.
