I’m not running back and forth between threads and this was discussed so many times so i’m not gonna go thru it again but,

LFS it sounds like you are saying a blanket statement that all goyish music is 100% fine. Thats untrue.

Let’s take the music aspect out of it for now. The amount of songs where the WORDS are straight out dirty talk is quite large. (I know im gonna sound like my dad but it really surprises me whats allowed on the radio. You know how many 5 yr olds are singing really explicit stuff?) I do listen to non jewish music but i know plenny of it is really unclean so i try to avoid those songs.

Problem number two: through the lyrics comes an opening to their societal and cultural lives; wants, desires, and value system etc.

Listening to that on a constant basis may awaken within someone those feelings which would otherwise be dormant or not exist at all.

So although it might not be assur (ive got not clue), there reason for staying away from it.

“Your personal feelings about non-Jewish singers are arguably admirable [that’s a positive statement 🙂 ], but cannot be used as an explanation of why listening to non-Jewish music is objectively wrong.”

Agree. Also it does sound like he’s looking for ways to find problems with it.

btw it prbably does say something about a girl if she listens to goyish music so i dont think this is something to scream “DONT JUDGE” about

I hear the OPs question, sadly my emunah got rocked for a split second also. However, to give up because of something which you dont even remember fully just doesnt make sense. There are obviously famous answers from gedolim to these types of questions but as of now we here are ignorant of them.

So as everyone else said, without a doubt theres a plan and that could be enough. If this is really bothering you then you should probably ask a real talmid chochom, not some random website- especialy with the fine line between kefirah and truth.

there is so much pressure to go to sem. and if you don’t wanna go, or its too expensive, than your told that none of the boys wanna go out/marry you! and the craziness doesnt end! than, the boys wanna make sure that they will marry a girl from a good sem, and so then they only go out with girls from BJJ or hadar!

AND THAN PEOLPE WONDER WHY THERE IS A SHIDDUCH CRISIS!!!

yup. thats the solution. rechnitz, u just wasted sooo much money bro.

the brisker rov in this weeks parsha says, although eliezer had so many nissim happening to him asisting him in finding out that rivka was the one for yitzchok, yitzchok didnt only rely on that. Rather, yitzchok waited until he saw that her actions were in the ways of his mother sarah and only then did he go for it.

    that help a bit?

you shud definitely ask a rebbi or rov or someone btw not just some kid that happened to see a vertel this week

    oyyoyyoy-

My response was not meant as mussar. The point is that if it is not an option to be late, and it is not an option to come without a tie, he will figure it out. The answer to the question really is that these are both not acceptable options.

A-my bad, kinda sounded like it

B-you still kinda sound like it

C-i think he just wanted to know what to do. if it helps let me ask it this way– what is the lesser of both terrible evils?

    First!

Just checked the website. So much has been changed since the last time i checked up on it.

The haskomah page is a joke, a joke topped with a lame attempt for armor in case the whole world comes out against them. They try to make the gedolim look bad and make themselves look stupid.

Now besides the halacha and hashkafa of shabbos, i just dont like them. Really rubbing me terribly the wrong way.

I havent, no. I do know however that whether or not a person can gain from coming out from such an experience as a stronger yid, he certainly should not put himself into such a position in the first place.

(il try to see the piece inside when i have a chance)
