ask a doctor you trust, as well as a rov, and do what they advise. no insult intended, but dont go by whatever random people in the cofeeroom tell you to do. ask people whom you trust.
chabadgalParticipantapushatayid- AGREE
chabadgalParticipantLU- yes, but the issue, is, there is sometimes no way of knowing if the child is a mamzer. when you adopt a non jewish child, you know for sure there are no issues.
health – why is it more unlikely for the non jewihs kid to search for birth parents than the jewish one?chabadgalParticipantyes, if there is a mother or child can survive not both issue, call a rav, but the mother has priority. otherwise, the fetus is considered alive.
chabadgalParticipantAnother reason- for arab countries- they would get engaged REALLY young (like under ten, maybe under five) because if they weren’t married they might be forced to marry a muslim for example the orphan law
chabadgalParticipantHashemisreading- i read over your question and you literally answered your question in the question. Precisely because you can do so much more, it is OK. you can listen to a shiur, give tzedaka, go on the coffee room π and so many other good things, all on the internet/
chabadgalParticipantLU- That is not why its hard to not speak lashon hara. Each generation has its challenges. Do you ever feel like you want to serve Avodah zara? The answer is no- because, with a few exceptions, that is NOT the challenge of our generation. However, by the first Bais Hamikdash, a lot of Bnei Yisroel WERE serving avodah zara, that was their challenge.
chabadgalParticipantdovidBT- clown makeup means white face, etc. It doens’t mean foundation and lipstick. I don’t think anyone is planning on wearing clown makeup on a normal day to day event.
May 29, 2017 10:39 pm at 10:39 pm in reply to: Adopted non-Jewish babies who elected to remain non-Jewish after Bar Mitzvah age #1288275chabadgalParticipantJoseph- yichud is an issue whether the child is jewish or not. If the child is jewish it is harder because the yichud issue is also relevant to the child, if not it is only relevant to the parentof the opposite gender.
May 29, 2017 9:47 pm at 9:47 pm in reply to: Adopted non-Jewish babies who elected to remain non-Jewish after Bar Mitzvah age #1288238chabadgalParticipantJoseph- yes, exactly. Also, you never know. The child can choose to convert twenty years later because of memories from their teenage years.
chabadgalParticipantclown makeup is fine tho as far as I know
chabadgalParticipantis it halachically not allowed for men to wear makeup? just wondering… and if the issue is because its for women, well, guess what! In our messed up day and age, there is mens makeup!
chabadgalParticipantalso me, i was watching the cofferoom for at least four years (although, I was a ghost, since my computer had an issue that wouldn’t let me post until BH the coffeeroom got updated a couple weeks ago)
chabadgalParticipantalthough, the first time i checked out the coffeeroom was in 2011. So that was a while ago π
chabadgalParticipantnonono plz dont switch back, theres an issue with my computer and i’ve never been able to comment or post on the old site, now I can finally post dont take that away!
chabadgalParticipant…you have to schedule your own doctors appointments
May 26, 2017 6:23 pm at 6:23 pm in reply to: Losing the battle against technology? βοΈ π΅ #1286387chabadgalParticipantheres an idea. get a free phone for texting with a prepaid plan. get a really basic one. and youll have that for these situations, and wont use it fro anything else.
chabadgalParticipantyes rebyidd. the country was definitely better 600 years ago with no goverment. people killing each other daily was definitely way better than this. and im sure cannibalism is an amazing thing, no?
chabadgalParticipantits only in out of town schools that girls dont have school sundays. i live in brooklyn and girls have school on sundays from first grade in all the schools i know.
chabadgalParticipantadvice- make a paypal account or cashapp or something where people can send money, not just putting in credit card info. more people will donate.
chabadgalParticipantrebyidd- murder is murder whether its legal or not
chabadgalParticipantalso, i personally find that i daven way better from my phone. i daven from a siddur because i cant have my phone in school, but i end up davening way better from my phone.
chabadgalParticipant(kinda late but yeah…)
sam2: so if you cant bring a phone in the bathroom because theres a siddur on it, then you cant go into the bathroom either, because you also have the siddur somewhere in your mind
i dont see how its any different?
unless the siddur is actually open while youre in therechabadgalParticipantsorry its a *little* late
you know there are cctvs by the kosel right? so youre allowed to go there… so yeah its fine to walk by cctvs. youre not the one who put them there. and youre not causing it to record or anythign like that.chabadgalParticipantRebYidd- ever heard of mechanical pencils? my favorite invention.
May 25, 2017 7:29 am at 7:29 am in reply to: Why the husband is in the driver’s seat π€΅π #1285285chabadgalParticipantthis has nothing to do with being frum. also non Jewish people usually end up driving like this. it is just the way it happens.
chabadgalParticipanti like how the websites been redone. i am finally able to comment! before replying never worked for some reason
chabadgalParticipantgefiltefish- i suggest speaaking to one of your mashpiim or a rav. not to what all your friends are saying.
chabadgalParticipante-fish: so youre daughter being 18 isnt too young, but the guy being 20 is?
chabadgalParticipant“better to eat in order to daven then to daven in order to eat”
May 24, 2017 1:24 am at 1:24 am in reply to: Losing the battle against technology? βοΈ π΅ #1284125chabadgalParticipantthe amish arent exact;y tech free. theyre allowed to have whatever they want in their bussinesses, and at home no wires. so a smartphone is fine, as its wireless.
chabadgalParticipantActually, most schools are not teaching cursive anymore, since it’s not really used. Also, Schools are using laptops, so barely any writing involved either way. (This does not include most frum schools tho). Personally I always wanted to use a pen but now that I can I use pencil anyways. The only time I used pen was in 7th grade which was the first year I was allowed to . Pencils are so much easier.
chabadgalParticipantActually, most schools are stopping tot each cursive now. And using laptops, so this whole discussion doesn’t really apply.
chabadgalParticipantWhen moshiach comes, then the ten lost shevatim will come back. The story with reb Meir is true b
