    If only I could…

The only option I have is before the ta’anis to gulp down a size 20 jumbo 200% proof mug(s) of dark, dark coffee. (of course it drains my every ounce of liquid) Sometimes it helps. That’s the price I pay for my helpless addiction. (hey, did I say that word?)

    WOW

    Some question.

And I think the answer is, NO. He could not have dreamed of us, four/five thousand years down the line, mostly in exile, persecution, slavery, ??? ???? ???? ??????, and all galus has to offer, we should be so loyal the the Creator he came to know. How could he dream of Channa the tzadekes – ??? ????? ????? ??? ???? ????? ????, the other times of Shmad when K’hilos by the thousands gave up their lives. As we said yesterday, they told their children ?? ????? ?????? ????? ??????? ????? ?????? ????? ???? ?????. Could he have dreamed of that?

Us, however, as individuals, no, each one must strive for ??? ????? ???? ????? ?????. Which means to slightly “touch” upon, those of the Avos. That’s the best we could hope for, it’s quite ludicrous to attempt to actually measure up to the Avos haKedoshim.

I do think you have the correct version, now that you remind me. However, I heard it from Rav Dishon years ago, before the Maggid began speaking. (maybe he was the one to ask the soldier?)

I’m totally with you on this. I’ve heard the complaint before, it’s been spoken about. Especially when tznius issues are at play, and the subject feels much more needless discomfort.

It’s not a real reason, but I think it occurs more by Yidden because of their inner concern, caring attitude. Again, it shouldn’t be a heter, I think that’s just where it comes from. Anyone else would have a natural MYOB attitude. It’s just a Yid’s natural instinct at play. Sometimes one has to overcome natural instincts when it causes another discomfort. (my humble opinion)

Why can’t you believe the fast started? You had a whole year to prepare for it.

Yidden obviously didn’t have enough zechusim, so HaShem decided to re-destroy the Bais HaMikdash. Obviously a lot more of our efforts is needed. In areas each person himself/herself knows best. And then there’s the generalizations brought down in numerous seforim, most common / publicized being the Ahavas Yisroel chinam.

I don’t know about you, I’m not at all surprised it wasn’t built this year. No – I have much, much more fixing up to do. In all areas, unfortunately.

    But I’m trying… maybe next year…

    OOHH!!

This will be a hotie!! Guaranteed!

Anyways, to this most important question “Where are the Manhigim?”. I humbly must admit, I’m right here. Mods won’t allow me to specify “WHERE” I am, but I’m right here.

OK, to get a bit serious (what in the world is that?), I too took a glance at those clips. I too was disgusted, mortified, nauseated, as any sensible human would be. But let’s not be ????? ??? on our holy nation, these were not the ones who follow leaders, a mere glance at the clips confirm that. These were the empty, wild, boorish ones with way too much time and unused energy on their hands, a true ??? they haven’t channeled them into better use (???? ????????). No, the vast majority were in the Shuls learning and davening, as proper Jew ought to do.

No need to denigrate to devout, upright ones who do follow the true Manhigim, are guided by their clear, lucid counsel, their bright shining luminescence. Those shy away from any sort of violence, disorder. Those have and utilize self control, they think first, mob and peer power won’t effect them.

No, Shtikoh is not Kehodo’oh, these ones have no leaders, unfortunately. These are guided totally by their own whims and crowd/peer pressure, it’s quite obvious that these are not the thinking type. And sadly, talking to these won’t accomplish much.

One must never be ???? ??? ????, we learn that from the Haftorah of this coming week. ?”? DO NOT wish any harm on yourself (or any other Jew).

As to your question “Why them, not me?”, obviously HaShem chose to keep you alive, for a VERY IMPORTANT REASON. You have a mission to accomplish, a specific mission that only you can fulfill, no one else.

Furthermore, as long as a person is alive he/she has potential. We can reach the sky (or further), we can become what HaShem had in mind for us to be. As long as there is living breath in a person, he/she can strive for greatness. For shleimus.

No, we might not be famous stars, from the shining greats of our nation. We may not be noticed by our own neighbors. However each and every one of us is a SHINING STAR to HaShem. ???? ???? ??????? ????? ???? ????. Each “star” a particular name, identity, “chashivus”. That should be enough to be ????? ?????? ??.

Live. Breathe. And reach for the stars!!

I’d prefer any model that has at least most of it’s features still operational, and fairly good exterior. Not excellent condition, because I’d like to hold on to it.

I once saw a perfect looking car with taped on lights etc. The owner told me he did that so it shouldn’t look so attractive.

So no. There’s nothing wrong with being extra cautious.

I think you got it wrong. I am “most of the CR”. Actually I was once.

Nobody, no one at all, has the right to knowingly hurt another’s feelings. ?? ?????? ????? ??? ????? ?????. You’re dealing with serious stuff. And one more point. You may never know another’s matzav, circumstances, environs, emotional makeup etc. To cause another to cry out (real or figuratively), to be the cause for another’s additional unneeded anguish, is something you don’t want.

If a point has to be sent, it must be in the most gentlest (is that a word?) of tones. The sweetest way possible.

And I know what I’m writing about. BTDT.

There’s a lot on this subject, Little You Know, words of the Great Master of Wisdom cannot be dismissed with a wave of the hand or with one cursory post. I’d rather buy Shlomo HaMelch’s advice than the “growing array of reputable ????? on chinuch” available at your favorite seforim store. He certainly knew what he was writing. And he didn’t need any of the modern day “professionals” to be mefarsh (read:twist) his words.

Gemarah says there’s a mitzvah to hit even a son who is on the right path, so that he may grow better. Sholom HaMelech was writing from experience, he was whipped (physically) by his mother – and he thanked her for it profusely, that’s the tribute of ??? ???. He felt, he experienced and therefore recognized it’s great importance.

Of course it has to be delivered with a sense of love, in a manner that even the child understands it’s being utilized for his/her benefit, out of love and concern for him/her. This is the art so lacking today. Any blow out of anger will not only not achieve the desired outcome, it’s in itself detrimental on many levels. It brings outs and shows the dark, mean, cruel, enraged, untamed, animalistic side of the parent. It slowly shows the child how to act when angry. It gives the child a doubt if he’s loved, wanted, accepted. No – that’s not when or how to use the potch.

But modern day society has nothing, nothing to show or brag about for their achievements regarding “children’s rights”. Well, of course they saved youngsters from real live monsters, ones who had no business being parents or educators to begin with. But pumping up a child to such a degree that he knows, he just knows he’s in control, nobody will be allowed to touch him, lift a finger to him, is THE REASON they act the way they do. Again – of course there has to be a balance, but a child (at least in the beginning – as per Gemarah) must fear the rod.

A true mechanech knows how to instill fear WITH LOVE. A true mechanech does not strike out of any personal bias. So the child knows it’s all for his benefit. And one who does not know how, one who cannot have the child’s best interest in mind, cannot and will not be able to instill a love for Yiddishkeit, or the ?????, if he cannot truly connect with his pupil.

Shlomo HaMelech, understood mankind, he knew what makes them tick. Way, way before modern “professionals” came to distort and create havoc on the educational system.

Forgot to mention, Shlomo HaMelech was from the Gedolei Yisroel.

Someone really into Yiddishkeit, really into learning, one who knows who’s who and what’s what, develops an inner sense of deep humility towards the previous giants. The lesson of ?? ???????? ??????? remains indelible in the mind and heart, and will always refer to the earlier ones with deference, reverence.
