twiggy
I’ve tried several diets but I’m not disciplined enough to stick to it. B”H if I really decide to lose weight and don’t eat much for a few days I lose a lot.
I thought about going to a nutritionist but I don’t think I would end up listening. My problem is I know what I have to do…I just don’t.
dunnoMemberCan someone post a link to that episode? I only found a small clip where she introduced herself.
dunnoMemberI would say to try to daven with a siddur but if necessary use a blackberry rather than nothing at all. For example, a blackberry would be fine at a wedding but not in shul.
dunnoMemberTrue or not true, it’s a funny story. Any others?
dunnoMembertwiggy
I feel the same. I used to be stick thin (hated it at that point) and then I gained some weight. According to everyone besides me I’m still thin but don’t feel comfortable. Exercise has always helped me relieve some stress…see if exercising religously helps you.
Good luck!
dunnoMemberI agree one shouldn’t text while driving. However, so many other things are just as much of a distraction and are legal. The bottom line is you have to act responsibly and drive safely.
dunnoMemberIf it makes you feel better, many people like the “out of town” attitude way better than the “in town” one. (Before everyone jumps, I’m generalizing here.)
dunnoMemberThese out of towners just don’t get it 🙂
dunnoMemberI would think 2 is way more painful.

Obviously height isn’t a matter of importance to you. For me it is. I have met short guys in the past and truth be told I’m much more attracted to the tall ones. That doesn’t mean I’m throwing away all middos. A tall guy with bad middos would not appeal to me and I would drop him like a hot potato. I’m sure there are short guys out there who have stellar middos. However, I am also sure (and have met) tall guys with great middos too.

SJSinNYC’s. I answered when her post was the only one up still.
dunnoMemberRacko…haven’t played that in years!
dunnoMemberGreat idea.
dunnoMemberAnd here we go again…
dunnoMemberhello99
What are you referring to?
dunnoMemberwatermelon
Nope. Not the founder. I received it as an email a while back. Glad it was of help to you!

Going over to them is counterproductive.
dunnoMemberI must have missed it. Can you summarize?
dunnoMemberLike everyone else here, if you don’t like the price, don’t buy it. No one’s forcing you.

Most times they realize what they’re doing wrong or don’t think it’s wrong. In either case, they won’t change just because some random person on the street tells them it’s assur. Like apushatayid said, set the standards for your family but don’t impose on others. It’s just not your business.
dunnoMembercshapiro
That’s great! Have fun!!

Hey! How’s the Europe/Israel trip going?
dunnoMemberA week later? That doesn’t sound right. I’ve tasted it for a few hours later but never more than that.
dunnoMemberI don’t do anything major for it…

yepyep
Exactly.

It seems to me (correct me if I’m wrong) that you are telling Sac that height isn’t an issue to divorce over when she commented in another thread that she wants a tall guy. While I agree that it’s not something that will cause a divorce, there’s no reason she should go into such marriage to begin with.
January 20, 2011 1:41 pm at 1:41 pm in reply to: tznius to wear skirts that just hit the knee or are above the knee? #730961dunnoMember“There unfortunately was a school named – be happy you missed it.”
Again, I’m NOT saying they wear skirts above the knees there. All I’m saying is that long uniform skirts used to be the “in” things and now shorter ones are. THAT’S IT! I’m not talking about above/below the knee AT ALL!
dunnoMember“Very important. I am tall for a girl (and apparently for most Jewish males) and I dont feel comfortable dating someone shorter than me.”
Same.
“So how come girls are allowed to say no because of height, but guys are evil when they say no because of weight?”
They’re not. They’re honest.
dunnoMembereclipse
Dead serious. I’m gonna see if I can find a link for you.
dunnoMembercv
And if her husband starts graying 5 years earlier than expected would she divorce him? No. Does that mean she should marry someone who’s graying at this point? No.
theObvious
True. But then really people should wait till they’re old so they can bank on all that life experience…
January 20, 2011 4:14 am at 4:14 am in reply to: tznius to wear skirts that just hit the knee or are above the knee? #730953dunnoMemberMaskima
I’m not saying the skirts are short. I’m talking about the trend of short vs long uniform skirts. Nothing to do with knees showing.
dunnoMemberbpt
Like I said before, I know of 15 year olds who are way more mature than some 19 year olds getting married.
dunnoMemberestherhamalka
Wow – that takes courage! Good for you!
January 19, 2011 11:52 pm at 11:52 pm in reply to: tznius to wear skirts that just hit the knee or are above the knee? #730937dunnoMemberBack in the day no one thought anything was wrong with denim skirts…when did that change? I’ve heard about people not wearing jeans (pants) but the skirts seem like a relatively new phenomenon to me.
dunnoMemberbpt
As in post high school..
Nowhere did I say that marriage is an easy thing. I know it’s not. But if someone’s mature and willing to work at it, I would think they have a higher success rate at the marriage lasting.

I know the short uniform skirts are more common but nowadays that’s warn more than the long ones? I think the fad started with Masores.
dunnoMemberbpt
Of marriageable age…
January 19, 2011 11:02 pm at 11:02 pm in reply to: tznius to wear skirts that just hit the knee or are above the knee? #730931dunnoMemberYou answered your own question so why bother asking?
dunnoMemberI’m not sure if this helps but there’s a group called Bleep I think – run by a frum girl who encourages people not to use offensive language.
dunnoMemberI think it should be started again and the mods should delete the stupid comments.
dunnoMemberaries2756
So what age do you think is the ideal age to get married? I didn’t read the original article – are they forcing the 15 year olds to get married or putting the idea out there?
I have friends who are way more immature than some 15 year olds. Yes, I think a mature 15 year old can be responsible enough to handle marriage and kids. And that’s me “being real.”
dunnoMemberAinOhdMilvado
Yeah, I guess it would only be a health issue. It’s scary how some people don’t say. I just heard of a girl who was in the hospital right before her wedding and STILL DIDN’T TELL HER CHOSSON! He found out 2 weeks after the wedding when she had to go in again.
dunnoMemberestherhamalka
Leave shev alone! She’s going on a well deserved vacation and isn’t looking for your haskama. Enough already!
dunnoMember“Can girls chime in? I wear Jeans (skirts). Only blue ones, not black ones. 🙂 “
Same 🙂

Lol

I don’t know about your parents but at 15, mine trusted me with all those things and then some.
dunnoMember” For the sake of sholom bayis, they can take turns choosing which flavor of SuperSnacks to buy for recess”
This one really made me laugh!
dunnoMemberI know a couple who dated on and off for 5 years – they are now happily married with 3 kids.
I don’t think you ignore what happened in the past but it’s probably not the first thing you should talk about.
dunnoMemberMy brothers always tell the barber exactly how they want their peyos BEFORE he starts chopping.
