BrokerParticipant
actually the Chulent Park is NOT in the middle of the frum neighbourhood.
Its located in the center of town where dafkeh less heimishe pple live.
Yes, the frum crowd have walks there and around the park on Shabbos, but its located far from the residential chulent!
December 8, 2011 8:52 pm at 8:52 pm in reply to: what happens when a shadchan doesnt cooperate properly? #834069BrokerParticipantPopa,
I am involved with my nephew because his mother is unwell and I am sorta taking over with re-to shidduchim.
But thats not the prob, its known to shadchonim and they contact me!
As far as getting a different shadchan to arrange it, thats a non issue. First I am curious to know whats holding her back, and wondering if I should just throw the towel in and conclude that it is not bashert!
BrokerParticipant‘……she was known to go around all over in entirely immodest fashion. ‘
Peacemaker,
She is not comitted to dressing in a tzinusdike fashoion. She is not a bas Yisroel after all.
BrokerParticipantMiddle path is right!
Your obligated to decline any aveiro they ask you to do.
Thats why the mitzvah of Kibbud Av is near the mitzvah of Shmiras Shabbos in the Aseres Hadibros. A sign that if they ask you to trnasgress on Shabbos, you have to refues.
BrokerParticipant600,
Very diplomatically put!
However, when push comes to shove, I’m wondering how much sympathy there would be from the frum community if he were to be executed.

Get a life boy!

I stand to be corrected but I think if all the Sanhedrin members thik he is guilty and one is not sure, he gets off. Can someone please clarrify?

The Satmar Rebbe Reb Yoilish;
‘Kids think they know better than their parents, and if they werent embarrassed enough, they would say they are older as well’
‘If you see someone without a beard, and a short jacket who has the number tattoed on his arm, give HIM the kvittel and not me’
There are so many sharp witted sayings by the Satmar Rebbe. Does anyone know anymore?
BrokerParticipantI think its very funny.
FYI, there was a well known Posek Hador who attended his grandson’s wedding where there WAS separate seating but NO mechitzah,

BrokerParticipantFood, food food!
People eat everyday and its least affected by the economy!
BrokerParticipantNot completley!
If people can brag about how much money they earn or how wonderful their children are, why can they not be proud of their background?
There is such a thing as Zechus Avos.
Jaymatt, your last point is a good one.
I shtam from the Divrei Chaim. We were always taught ‘Maaseh Avos Simon Labonim’
Make your ancestors as proud as possible and aim to be the ultimate Yiras Shomayim.
BrokerParticipantChofetz Chaim,
Your point???????
BrokerParticipantWell, its over here! 😉

BrokerParticipantI think the second post Joseph wrote, is exactly what the write is alluding to!
Joseph,
Your point might be a
good one, but written a little bit too cheesy. Judging from the way you often respond to posters you dont agree with, its hard to believe that you would ever actually write a piece like that!
BrokerParticipantNameless,
You hit the nail, as usual!
I happen to have a son in shidduchim who is an exceptional masmid. I also was blessed with parnosoh Birchovoh, and this letter dont impress me at all! I respect thos who respect others, and the write seems to have a problem doing that.
BrokerParticipantBeautiful story. I’ve heard it before and can imagine the sense of relief this frum guy had when he found out who these ‘victims’ were. Afterall, its a Mitzvah to destroy Amalek, so not only was a free of guilt but must have felt an accomplishment.
Than k you for sharing the story!
August 8, 2008 3:15 pm at 3:15 pm in reply to: A Message From Yechezkel Katz, Executive Director, UJCARE #619894BrokerParticipantBeautifully written, but I share the same opinion as Joseph and nameless.
Ther was an unfortunate case in the 80’s when a chassidic journalist wrote an article with negative comments about a certain Rebbe.
The results were devastating. He ended in the hospital with broken bones just because he gave an opinion the Chassidim didnt like. I know we log in with annonymous names, nevertheless please be cautious!
BrokerParticipantAishes Chayil,
Very well said! Some people have enough time to dream up the most ridiculous posts!
