I don’t think that “it’s not my day” is the right way of thinking.
2scentsParticipantWhat about Daas yeshudis?
2scentsParticipant..learns, studies and trolls!
2scentsParticipantFeif,
A. The Asifa wasn’t for chasidim just as the Siyum wasn’t for litvaks.
B. although one must give the upmost respect for ANY Talmid Chacham, I was only pointing out why certain ‘groups’ decided not to attend the siyum.
2scentsParticipantYou should talk to the counsler or HC. This is crazy there should be better ways to discipline children.
I Dont now how these people get away with doing such things.
2scentsParticipantchoppy,
However I understand Wolfs point. Hitler was mean and evil and should not be used to bring out such ‘point’s’.
2scentsParticipantoomis,
That is correct, we are in different times. However I dont think that it makes sense to argue that the way we dress has greatly been influenced by the modern world.
Further more, the modern world has taken the dress code to a new low.
2scentsParticipant<OPINION> Because you care <i>to much</I> what other people will think about you, therefore you get lost. </OPINION?
2scentsParticipantI thought that you were in the DELETED Section. I looked at the EDITED section, all I saw was a bunch of Joseph’s..
2scentsParticipantFeif,
Just so that you understand their point of view.
Because this Rav that was invited to speak represents something that those people (the non attenders) are against. They felt that it would be inappropriate for them to attend.
To those people, it was L’havdil as if an apikoress would be invited to speak. Although they badly wanted to attend, they felt that according to their beliefs it would be inappropriate to do so.
2scentsParticipantyungerman1,
Of course I did, how else would I know what to post?!
2scentsParticipant-45,
Although I also doubt that this is really a women, in fact I think that this is a POPA style thread.
But you should know that your a MOD, which means that your word means a lot.
Do not accuse unless you really know what your talking about.
Do you know really know the gender of the OP?
2scentsParticipantdid PBA change his screen Name to Goldenpupik?!
2scentsParticipantI dont see any point in arguing with you. I do think that you got my point.
2scentsParticipantMake sure that you have enough water for Netilas Yedayim. .
2scentsParticipantpool
I think that it depends what the attractiveness is. If it something that is gross, or because she is not a Trophy wife.
The fact that his eyes wandered and saw something nicer, should not (in my opinion) be sufficient enough to ask for a divorce.
2scentsParticipantWolf,
You are correct, I try explaining that to people but they think that they know better.
Unless you are really versed in their arguments do not start.
Harav Avigdor Miller repeated a lot of times, that it’s not hard to debate these people, only that you have to be qualified.
He took some of their arguments (some of those that you pointed out) and went on to show how fraudulent their arguments were.
For instance Briss Chadasha does not mean the Torah, it refers to the covenant Hashem made with Avraham. Briss does not mean Testament. (this is noted by the mefarshim on the spot as well).
He goes on to explain that the early priests were fully aware about the true dikduk in the passukim they intentionally misled their people.
In Yeshiva we do not regularly discuss their arguments, therefore unless you are “Really” qualified to argue with them, refrain from doing so.
2scentsParticipantBustercrown,
Since you asked for some advice, I will offer although I am far from qualified to deal with this issue.
First, make sure that your Husband has a Rav, its sort of insurance, if something goes wrong, you have someone to turn to. be it a Rosh Yeshiva or Shull Rav.
From your post it seems as if this situation is way out of hand. I do not know what your Husband does online, (it’s evident that you have a computer at home, since you post often). The best option might be to openly confront him and let him know that this cannot go on. Make sure that you have your Rav’s (or his Rosh Yeshivas guidance on how to confront him), but playing this cat and mice game might do more harm to the relationship than being open.
Make it clear to him that you are here to confront him as much as you would like to help him and more than that help yourself and your Family.
Make sure that you let him know that you love him and admire him, only that you want him to come clean of what happened and move on.
Hatzlacha Rabba.
2scentsParticipantWas in a dira nexto his shull, there was no way hat I would be able to get a Bracha.
Then one day there was a yeshiva that came with their Sefer Torah to show it to rav Eliyashiv and ask a Sheila (they looked like sefardim or BTs). I saw them all line up to enter the rav’s home, I quickly jumped into the line (imagine the scene, yeshiva bachur standing in middle of he line together with a bunch of sefardim).
Once inside one by one took his hand and kissed it.
He then gave us all a Bracha.
An experience I will not forget.
2scentsParticipantIf I remember correctly, in yom kipper the Halacha is that if one feels that they will black out, they should drink untill their eyes light up.
Also. On tisha baav, there is no pachus m’kshiur. It’s either yes or no.
2scentsParticipantWe had a boy in our class Tzefanya was his name.
2scentsParticipantHow do you tailgate at the siyum?
2scentsParticipantClassical PBA. At least your bac to your own self.
2scentsParticipantI don’t think that people attack other’s grammar, I have been called out a few times (rightfully so..)
I know that my grammar is not perfect, however I do not think that the spellcheckers out there are attackers, they just point out your (or my) mistakes.
Whey is it that you get so hurt about this?
2scentsParticipantDont get the joke. care to explain?
2scentsParticipantchoppy,
Not necessarily, the girls speak primarily English, therefore they read English as well.
2scentsParticipantA great book, Sam Teach yourself programming in 24 hours.
2scentsParticipantThose are not magazines.
People in Williamsburg read the same things people elsewhere read.
although most stores do not sell the Bina Ami and Mishpacha, it can be purchased in a few stores.
2scentsParticipantwhere will this take place?
2scentsParticipantI had to get my backup laptop, couldn’t afford missing out from the CR.
2scentsParticipantHealth, thank you for those two locations.
I really appreciate it.
2scentsParticipantIt’s someone in the US. Not sefardish. Regular litvak. They liked the name, so they used I for their daughter.
2scentsParticipantI know of someone named Tirtza.
2scentsParticipantI know of someone named Tirtza.
2scentsParticipantWhen I was in camp, my parents would leave very early on visiting day, arrive to camp early as well.
We would spend a couple of hours together afterwards they would travel back home.
Avoiding the traffic both ways.
2scentsParticipantAlways,
Thanks, I know about ECP.
However,
a. I don’t think do medic courses, especially part time courses.
b. I would prefer some where in upstate.
2scentsParticipantBrony,
I know that i am off topic, however can you post with out the spaces between each line? I get dizzy trying to read what you write!
2scentsParticipantAZ 17A.
Yakov Min’ah, Talmid Yeshu has been removed.
The Yavetz uses this gemara to verify in which time period Yushke lived.
Tosfos discusses if all Yakov Min’as are this same person or not.
When I checked the Gemara in Chulin that brings Yakov Min’ah (I cannot recall the exact daf now) He challenges Rava with a question, to which Rava responds “For [People like] you the Passuk says..” I think that the way Rava answered him sits well if this Yakov Min’ah is the same one as in AZ (which was Yeshu Hanotzri’s talmud).

I protest, the posters you mentioned are not Leitzanim, they have a sense of humor however they do not fall into the catagory of Leitzonim.

2scentsParticipant20, what we are seeing is the last generation of Mods.
Take a good look at them before they become extinct.
2scentsParticipantHaifagirl
Is it grammar that you teach?
2scentsParticipantWas the spam about you being stuck in London without money?
Or was it you promoting a product?
2scentsParticipantYou should seek proffesional help right away. Doublepostisitus is not something you should take lightly.
2scentsParticipantgolfer,
I would argue that the OP’s idea is great especially in the three weeks.
Since they are not considering the fact that there are followers that are engaged in Machlokes, in fact they want to disregard the entire machlokes and have both Gedolim.
2scentsParticipantshopping613,
where do I fall into?
I only have one screen name and post occasionally.
I think that the Mods should hand out “single username certificates”.
2scentsParticipantGo to a Chassidishe minyan, you will get away with the Tachnun on Fridays.

You can use OpenDNS.
you can Blacklist sites that inappropriate, should you have the need to access a site that you have yourself blacklisted, you can white-list it in a matter of seconds.
common, your an IT guy.
