I was also present by a birthday party of someone just over 100 and I also thought how it may sound strange to wish him until 120.

For some reason people dont consider the actual job only how it sounds.

Some may think that bb physical buttons are easier but once you get used to typing on the screen it will even out.

Well there is no single cure because every Crohns person has different symptoms. I think its important to treat each problem separately and not get stuck on typical cures.

Instead of flagyl you can try xyfaxan.

Instead of remicade you can try humira.

Instead of scd you can try to figure out which specific foods give you the most problems.

Also, with Crohns its very important to drink lots of liquids but try different ones because some drinks may do more harm than good.

Dont you get mail requests from different organizations? I think you should keep automatic payment for a certain amount but leave some money for other (not your typical) charities which you would pay manually.

Ive been told not to work with friends/family well I did both at different times and had only good experiences with it. It depends on personalities and ability to take things lightly not to stress over every problem. Based on what you’ve mentioned I would say definitely go for it.

    MichaelB,

I completely agree with you. And it reminds me of the following story…

A student of Rabbi Yisroel Salanter once approached him with the following dilemma. “I’ve been a shochet (ritual slaughterer) for many years. As I grow older, I become more concerned about my responsibilities. The fear of causing others to eat non-kosher meat is overwhelming. I would like to stop slaughtering and go into business instead!” Rabbi Yisroel Salanter asked him, “Are you an expert in the laws of slaughtering?” “Of course, Rebbe, I have studied the laws of shechita for many years!” Rabbi Yisroel Salanter then asked, “Are you expert in the laws of business?” The student laughed, “Of course not, very few people learn Choshen Mishpat (the section in the Shulchan Oruch [The Code of Jewish Law] that discusses business law)!” Said Rabbi Yisroel Salanter, “You are not making any sense – If you are prepared to stop slaughtering because of your fear of sinning, even though you are an expert in the laws, how much more so should you fear sinning in business, in which you have no expertise in its halachos!”

I dont mind them banning the sale of raw milk because we can still drink it if we wanted to by getting a cow.

What bothers me about FDA is that they will never review any natural cures (vitamins, herbs…etc) so are they really operating in our best interest? Or do they only care about the lobbyists from drug companies who pay them off?

    WIY,

I dont agree with your second part about mixing Ruchniyus and Gashmiyus.

To aquire great Torah knowledge you need to give up Gashmiyus but otherwise its fine to mix those two together.

Its our goal to bring Ruchniyus into our every day lives to uplift our Gashmiyus.

I would like a way to go directly to the last post of any thread. Here are my suggestions how it can be implemented:

Next to a thread name have a little symbol and by clicking it you’ll go directly to the last post.

Or by clicking on the number of posts which are already written after the thread name.

Or let each user set up his preference (also go to first or always go to last post)

And the last way is the most simple but least effective way is once the person entered a thread he’ll see a link to click so he can go directly to the last post whether its on this page or not.

Rice is very good because it is cooked in water and it absorbes it so it helps you get hydrated also.

No junk food, no spicy foods, and try to avoid fatty food and fried things because body uses up water to digest those.

And Moq was the first person to mention about giving money and in his post he mentions:

So my assumption was that we are giving money to help OP to pay her tuition.

(i still didnt send my check because i ran out of checks but im considering sending cash by mail to make sure i take care of it before R”H)

Many of us have fallen to the political fight in this issue.

    1) Why do we call it ground zero?

Its not at ground zero its 2 huge blocks away so that shouldnt be the problem.

2)Also, why is the question to build or not to build when there is already a fully functional mosque there?

My problem with this whole project is this weird imam and his ties with terrorists. He should be investigated with the money and then im sure the project will be canceled.

The 2 wives idea might be a good idea to insure that each family has 2 incomes. 🙂

On a serious note… i think people shouldn’t be affraid of a shidduch where the girl is older than the guy. And the only way to get rid of this stupid concept is to start teaching our kids that it’s ok if mommy is older than tatty.

in reply to: Segulos and Superstitions #1204163
    2qwerty

Sometimes just reading the words of a prayer may not be enough. Hashem wants us to change through our prayers and segulos help us with it. Whichever way it happens but once we change then the decrees against us may change. When you go to a kever of a tzadik to pray somehow your kavonos may be a bit stronger. Because by doing something extra (something you dont usually do) you feel like your prayers will be more likely heard and answered so you concentrate on them better.

So i think segulos are needed for some of us to fool ourselves into praying with more attention. And once we do that enough times im sure we will change and our mazal will change with us.

(I think people can make up their own segulos as long as it leads you to pray better and to grow spiritually then it should work. However, it is obviously better to follow our tradition and only use the segulos that were passed over to us.)

Mishna in Pirkey Avos 2::2 basically says that a person should learn and work together. Explanation brought by artscroll mentions that a person who only learns without working will come to do an avera. For example money from support will not be enough and then he’ll be desperate to find a job that pays enough to cover all the bills and will be forced to steal (or work dishonestly).

Generally, I think not enough people are learning halachas of business before going into the business world and then fall into temptations.

Before anyone tries to argue with me i’ll say this… I’m a programmer and i can easily send hundreds of fake votes to any contestant. Do you think i should do that? And do you think sending 1 vote from 100 fake people isnt the same thing?
