1st & foremost, Good Riddance Yiddish, and wake up to reality:- English & Ivrit are the only 2 leading langusges in the Jewish world of the 21st century.

The fact that even Artscroll has never come out with Yiddish translations, but only with English & Ivrit translations, says it all & speaks volumes. Even French Russian Spanish are more on the ball in the 21st century.

B’H I have never stooped to the level of facebook nor twitter {& didn’t need a Rabbi to figure this out}, and since I speak English & Ivrit and not Yiddish, there is nothing I can do about it, because these Yiddish speakers could have just as well spoken in chinese.

AS HaLeiVi said, Eliyohu haNovi shall appear 1 calendar day before the Moshiach arrives, and this will be the last chance ever, to repent, and not miss the boat.

I refer you to the 2nd last verse in all of Nevi’im and of Shabbos HaGodol Haftoro.

BTW note that in this verse, Elijah is written defective, i.e. minus the “Vov”, and hence that the correct Nussach in Birkas haMozon for HoRachamon Hu Yishlach Lonu Es Eliyoh haNovi is “minus the Vov” being that this prayer is based & formulated on this 2nd to last Possuk in Malochi.

You haven’t stated which neighborhood your parents are residing in? and to which neighborhood you are contemplating moving to? so how can anyone be expected to give an informed response?

You don’t mention how far your parents are from a Shul or subway stop, nor how near you wish to be to a Shul.

We also have no knowledge if you are just 18 and graduating out of school? or already in your 30’s? and several years in a job.

Punctuality is goyish (am I doing this right?) Couldn’t be more mistaken. Punctuality is a Jewish as one can get it. Numerous Halochos vitally depend on punctuality, including commencing Shabbos & Yom Kippur in time, and finishing your Amidah in time, be it before 1/3 of the day, or before sunset. So I have to seriously disagree with ItcheSrulik’s assertion.

The 1st & by far the most important & only cure, is to arrive on time. This is especially true by Shacharis, where definition of being on time, is defined as being 5 minutes early, so one is already clad with Tallis & Tefillin, by the time, the Cantor ascends the Omud.

This will save numerous questions & 2nd guessing which opinion to conform to, whether to speed thru davening or skip certain parts to commence Tefiloh b’Tzibur, or to Daven slowly & miss Tefiloh bTzibur.

I simply cannot emphasize strongly enough, how crucial & critical it is, to never arrive late to services, but always be at least 5 minutes early for weekday Schacharis.

There is absolutely no place like Eretz Yisroel, if you are seeking a fabulous experience.

Go next week, and spend Yom Yerusholayim & Shovu’os in Yerusholayim in the Jewish Quarter & pray at the Kossel.

Then for the remainder of the summer, when it gets hot, go for 3 days to Tzfas, which cools off nicely in the evenings, even during August.

This week’s Parsha of BeHar in Israel, is the source for giving business to a Jew rather than a Nochri, when not going to hurt oneself financially doing so. This Halocho certainly applies to vacationing in Israel rather than in Switzerland.

Daven on Erev Rosh Chodesh Sivvon [1 day after Yom Yerusholayim] for Siyato d’Shemayo for thy descendents, and leave the rest up to haShem.

After that take a nice long nap, and then relax spending Shovu’os nite up with cheese cake and Simcha & Emunah in haShem.

Why do most of us celebrate Shabbos Nachamu? In essence, it Halachically is a regular Shabbos, and if anything during the 9 days, in 70c.e. at least we still had a Bais haMikdosh whereas by 11-16th of Ov of 70c.e. we had no more Bais haMikdosh.

Even parents will stand up for their child to sit.

pesach must come out two days BEFORE the FOLLOWING rh. ….. Actually 23 weeks & 2 days before R.H.

    nitpicker

it will occur twice in row three years from now. … Please let me rephrase this:- It shall come 4 out of 5 years from 2015 thru 2019, like this year. ……. It is such a great Kevi’oh, because:- 1) Entire week from Shabbos haGodol to get ready for Pesach, and an entire week after Pesach [in Chutz lo’Oretz] to get set up for 1st Shabbos after Pesach. 2) Can relax Erev Shovu’os afternoon being a Shabbos before very tiring night up; 3) Tammuz 17 & Tisha b’Ov feel somewhat diffused in severity being Nidche. 4) Don’t have to work Erev R.H. nor Erev Sukkos nor Hoshana Rabba, all being Sundays. 5) Short Tachnun on Taanis Esther Shacharis.

Shticky Guy:- When the Torah refers to Pesach in conjunction to Nisson, it is exclusively referring to afternoon of Nisson 14th. Thereafter the Torah calls it Chag haMatzos, as indeed we do in our prayers.

Hence albeit we socially refer to the week of Pesach as “Pesach” rather than “Chag haMatzos” it technically is inaccurate. However, by Pesach Sheni, we somehow seem to do it the correct way, referring to the Zeman Shechitas hePesach as “Pesach” as does the Torah in conjunction with “Nisson 14th” being called “Pesach laShem”.

When in A’dam you can stay by the “Doria Hotel”, just off from the Dam. It is not so expensive, and you can get Kosher Breakfast there.

When I was there, it was a last minute booking, and I was told, that due to last minute booking, there wouldn’t be Kosher food until my 2nd morning there, but when I came down the 1st morning, they had come up, with Kosher food.

yitayningwut is a Tzadekes Gemuroh for having recited her prayers; The more prayers recited, the more Nachas Ruach to the Ribbono Shel Olom.

On the first day of Shavuot, after the Kohain has been called to the Torah, but before he recites his blessing: The older Minhog which is still retained in many places is to recite Akdomus after the 1st verse of Kerias haTorah, prior to reading of ther 2nd verse.

I bought a Sefer Torah so that I can read my Shenayyim bMikro from a Sefer Torah, which I feel to be more Kovadik, than just reading my Shenyim bMikro from a printed Chumash.

In light of this, I read the entire Parsho in 1 shot, and then do the entire Targum Unklus in 1 shot, because it would be too cumbersome after each Posuk to close my Sefer Torah, and read the Targum Unklus in the Chumash, and to re-open my Sefer Torah.

I also find double Parshoyos to be very cumbersome, and don’t feel I require 3 week breaks, so I have been performing My Shenayim b’Mikro vEchod bTargum based on the Israeli schedule, which is working very nicely. I have followed this procedure numerous times in past years when this set up occurs, be it post Shovu’os or post Pesach.
