A crane overturned in Boro Park Monday morning, and miraculously no one was injured.
The ‘boom-crane’ mounted on a truck which was making a delivery of material to a construction site at the corner of 12th Avenue and 59th Street, when it suddenly flipped onto it side. The material went flying off the crane, and came crashing down in a thunderous bang to the foundation in the construction pit below.
The driver was able to self-extricate himself from the truck, and Bichasdei Hashem there was no one injured.
Emergency crews from the FDNY NYPD’s ESU, DOB, and other agencies were rushed to the scene, and an extended operation was underway to safely turn the truck back on its wheels.
Sources tell YWN that the crane operator accidentally did not put down his “extenders” underneath the truck to support it when using the crane, causing it to flip over.
