[UPDATED PHOTO & VIDEO LINKS BELOW] The Presidential Administration has ruled out the possibility that the 10 Hasidic pilgrims that were detained in Uman (Cherkasy region) on September 10 were deported for religious or nationalist reasons.
The presidential press service announced this in a statement.
“The Ukrainian authorities consider the incident that took place between Hasids and local residents in the town of Uman on September 10, 2010, after which 10 pilgrims were deported, as a domestic misunderstanding and does not see any religious or nationalist reasons behind them,” the press service quoted the Presidential Administration’s deputy head Hanna Hermann as saying.
Hetman stressed that that the pilgrims were deported with the aim of enforcing law and order and preventing escalation of the situation.
On behalf of Ukraine, she expressed the hope that the organizers of the pilgrimage will take additional measures in the future to prevent such a situation.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukraine deported 10 Hasidic pilgrims to Israel on September 12 after they were detained in Uman on September 10 for violating public order during detention of people suspected of assaulting two local residents.

Can anyone explain to me a simple question I have? Why is it that almost all videos show only groups of apparent new visitors to Uman when there are hundreds upon hundreds of not only regular Breslovers wanting to do teshuva in Uman, but Jews who come from backgrounds such as Lubavitch, Litvaks, Sephardi Yeshivas, Belz, Bobov and Satmar who are there to receive the tikkun of the tsaddik. This has been going on for several years, and I still cannot understand the video producers, not only on TYW but all over the place…..
In any case: ASHREINU, MA TOV CHELKEYNU SHE-ZACHINU LEHISKAREV LE-RABBENU……..!!!
Thats the problem good yiddel, they’s hundreds of temimesdige yidden who somehow land up there but thousands upon thousand of mad street dancers etc who shame klal yisroel with their behaviour and cause a tremendous chilil hashem all over the place.
#1: That’s really simple! “there are hundreds upon hundreds of Breslovers wanting to do teshuva in Uman”, BUT THERE are thousands upomn thousands of crazies, druggies and drunks who congregate in Uman. Naturally, the videos will be of the majority…
