6:15PM EST: NYPD Detectives have charged the suspect being held in the brutal murder of Yoseph Robinson HY”D.
As YWN had reported yesterday, detectives had picked up the suspect early Tuesday morning, and now highly credible sources confirm to YWN that the suspect, 33-year-old Eion Klass, a black male, has been arrested on charges of 1st and 2nd Degree Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The NYPD’s 70th Pct, under the command of Deputy Inspector Ralph Monteforte, worked tirelessly with the Brooklyn Homicide Squad, Detectives, and the Community Affairs Division, to apprehend the suspect less than one week following the murder.

A violent parolee released from prison less than a year ago was arrested in the slaying of a beloved Brooklyn liquor store clerk, who turned his back on the glitzy world of hip hop to become an Orthodox Jew.
Eion Klass — who served 11 years in jail for attempted murder and robbery — was charged with murder as well as criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
Klass — who tried to escape from the 70th precinct stationhouse while he was in custody — confessed to killing Yoseph Robinson while trying to rob the Midwood store, a police source said.
Klass was busted after someone called in a tip to cops, police commissioner Ray Kelly said.
Klass had also been wanted in connection to a June 28th alleged assault and robbery.
In that violence, he allegedly hit the victim over the head with a bottle, knocked him unconscious and robbed his gold chain.
The cops linked the two crimes during the investigation. They found Klass after the tipster said the suspect was driving a relative’s Lexus. Cops arrested him in that car, said a source.
In 1998, Klass was sentenced to nine to 18 years in prison for attempted murder, assault and weapons possession. He was paroled in October of last year.

what could we have done to have kept him off the streets before
alas we have law and order
I guess this means the rehabilitation didn’t work. What a waste. The finest guy.
