5:30PM EST: A 30-year-old Jewish man has drowned in White Lake a short while ago, and a search and rescue mission is underway to locate his body.
The missing person was boating on the lake, when he reportedly jumped in for a swim. Tragically, he never surfaced.
Dozens of boats and jet skies are searching the lake, and are being assisted by a NYSP Chopper. A large response from Catskills Hatzolah are also on the scene, and standing by.
As of this posting, this is still a search and rescue mission.
UPDATE 7:15PM EST: The body has been recovered and R”L pronounced dead. Misaskim volunteers are working with the local coroner to ensure proper Kavod Haniftar is given, and are working to expedite the release of the body.
UPDATE 8:30PM EST: YWN regrets to inform you of the tragic and extremely untimely passing of Aryeh (Jay) Levin Z”L, at the young age of 26.
Aryeh lived in Crown Heights and was was working for Womans League, an organization that takes care of severely disabled adults, in Sackett Lake, NY.

They should try the segulah to locate a body, throw a wooden plate in the water it should stop moving when it reaches over the body (boduk umenuseh) this segulah can be found in the back of sefer Taamei Haminhagim in the segulos section page תקסט ayin shom.
