Rabbi of the Jewish community of Berlin Rabbi Yehuda Teichtal was not far away, at a community event, when he heard of the tragic event at a Berlin Xmas marketplace. The rav excused himself from the event and headed to the scene, of what was believed to be a terrorist attack.
He explains “I heard of the attack from a number of worried families, concerned for their loved one. At this time, we are not aware of community members among the wounded and I am in touch with police. We are also working to establish contact with Israelis who were with us before the incident to inquire as to their whereabouts and well-being. Our hearts are with the families of the victims”.
