As a Libertarian,I wouldn’t expect him to know much about any city outside the USA.
Perhaps he meant “what is the point of the question?” Like, “what about Allepo are you interested in hearing about?”

isolationism is not about ignorance. It is an approach to foreign affairs, some of witch can directly effect US interest.
Who cares about Allepo? It is one of many battles in that war, and frankly one that doesn’t really American interests since it involves the Syrian government and the Syrian insurgents (who aren’t exactly our best friends). It doesn’t involve ISIS. While the US has good reasons to oppose ISIS, and some reasons to support the Kurds – the US has no interest in the war between the Syrian government and the coalition (including groups loyal to al Queda) opposing the Syrian government. Ability at international trivial pursuit really isn’t relevant to the question as to whether we still want Hilary and her friends running the country for the next eight years.
What, how could someone not know what Halab is? I’m shocked! He definitely is not getting any votes in Flatbush or Deal! Unless their Shami’s or Qamishli’s!
