I passed by when this happened. It was a set-up! I saw a person standing in back of the bus showing the vehicles to pass around the bus…
You can judge, maybe the driver on the other bus told him too, or the other bus was stuck, or something you donr know…
whee was this
44th street between 12 & 13th ave
As did a car service and a private minivan. The pedestrians don’t seem surprised.
I was there.l know the people involed. Yesterday was an extremely cold day and they were boosting the bus to start. The driver waived everyone to go on the sidewalk. It was perfectly legal to pass. No children were on the parked bus or the diagonal bus.It looks great for a sensational picture but after you verify the story, it doesn’t belong on your website especially with that caption.
YWN??? REALLY? I thought only CNN distorted new about the jews. You can clearly see another car doing the same so it wasnt just this bus for no reason. It’s possible the other bus had an issue as one commentor already said there were others as well and someone directing. It would be proper for you to remove this entire article before a possible chilul hashem arises.
I’ll take alexgurw’s word for it. Why would the bus be parked diagonally, is he picking up public school students (the building on the right is PS 131) on a Sunday?! The most plausible explanation (before reading the above comments) is that he is giving a boost for the parked bus and was trying to position the battery compartment (which is on the driver’s side) as close to the other bus’s as possible.
To add on to Lamdan inc. If you look carefully at the bus, you can see the door to the battery compartment is open
