  1. Wow! What a speech, every word so true. Unfortunately, I have my doubts things will change- for the very reasons R’ Shlomo Yehuda elucidated so well. People all think they are better than the next. In fact R’ Aaron Leib Shteinman Shlita already yelled about this, at what used to be Jamesway (today Chemed) about 13 years ago. He said Lakewood rejecting children is ALL about Gaiva. Well; did anyone listen to the Gadol Hador over the past 13 years??? We pick and choose what to listen to.

  2. He is very naïve. Fact is that the main objective of Parents, is, that their child should come out of the Yeshiva with a great name, so that he can go to great high school, and then on to a great Yeshiva, and get a great Shidduch, and have the brightest friends.
    This will never change.
All Yeshivos that accepted All applicants, have been abandoned and closed down.

  3. Everyone, here in Lakewood, knows that in order for you to get your child into Kanarek’s yeshiva, you have to know somebody with a lot of money. Otherwise the child is not accepted.

  4. To ader:

I’m not sure where you get that from. I am here in Lakewood for close to 15 years and I don’t particularly believe that to be true at all.

Shlomo Yehuda was right in probably every word he said, but I don’t think you are right in your claim.

  5. How many 15 year old boys and their mothers cried with tears, when they were not accepted in Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin.
When Reb Meir Shapiro came to America, the Gevurim complained to him about this tremendous pain that this idea was causing. The Yeshiva was eventually closed down by the War.
