Officials at a Brooklyn yeshiva are defending a security guard captured on video repeatedly punching a man and shoving him over a railing.
Headmaster Richard Altabe says the video doesn’t tell the whole story about the incident at Yeshivat Shaare Torah in Midwood.
Altabe tells CBS New York that the man was a stranger who looked drunk and agitated. He says the man shoved the guard as he was being escorted out of the school.
The man then hurls a racial slur at the guard, who repeats it in what seems to be angry disbelief. A staff member tries to defuse the situation.
Altabe says the students love the guard and feel he protected them.
The man did not file a police complaint.
