From a neglected Jewish baby, to those ravaged by Hurricane Sandy – everyone counts at OHEL.
And this year, many of OHEL’s residences themselves were badly damaged by the flood waters.
“Help us get back home” Says Eytan, an 18 year-old with developmental disabilities. But Eli cannot go home – the OHEL Bais Ezra Arlington residence in Cedarhurst was destroyed by the ravaging flood waters of Hurricane Sandy. Eytan and five young men with developmental disabilities were evacuated before the Hurricane by OHEL and are currently living at The Regency in Brooklyn where they are being cared by OHEL Bais Ezra staff.
Even after insurance, OHELs’ cost to rebuild is still in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
OHEL has helped transform the lives of these adolescents, helping to nurture a full and rich lives with love and care from devoted OHEL Bais Ezra professionals and direct care staff.
They miss their comfortable home environment. A home unique designed and built to . They miss being close to their families and friends and all that is familiar.
