On Sunday evening (10th Adar) a capacity crowd filled St Kilda Town Hall to participate in the second communal Seudas Hadoah organized again by Kollel Beis Yosef.
Initiated by Melbourne Rov Harav Beck Shlita, this communal Seudas Hadoah gives an opportunity for people to express their gratitude to Hashem Yisborach for all the good He bestows upon us.
With many months of planning the active organisers together with the generosity of numerous sponsors ensured the evening was an outstanding success.
The function began with Mincha at 5:45 pm followed by a succulent dinner catered by Eshel Fine Kosher Catering.
The event was opened with a kapital Tehillim led by HaRav Beck, thanking Hashem for all the good that He has done and will do b”H in the future. This was followed by a kapital Tehillim recited by Dayan Heimlich.
The event was chaired by Reb Mordechai Zalman Fixler.
Speakers included HaRav Beck, the Rosh HaKollel Dayan Katz, and Menahel HaKollel Reb Hershel Fogel.
The visiting guest speaker HaRav Mordechai Aryeh Friedman, son of former Rosh HaKollel HaRav Eliezer Dovid Friedman Shlita, spoke about the importance of supporting the Kollel and Torah Study in Australia and encouraged people to sign up for monthly partnerships.
The evening highlights were three special musical productions, planned by Duvid Moshe Halpern, incorporating visiting world-renowned musician Reb Meir Adler, a local Men’s choir conducted by Chaim M. Friedman, a boys choir conducted by Reb Shmuel Dov Stein, soloists Ari Moskowitz & Yumi Rosenbaum, and a special chazonus shtikel by Chazan Dovid Rubinfed. Child solos were sung by Motty Goldstein, Moshe Rosenbaum, and Elya Moshe Hochhauser.
A memorable moment was as the entire crowd sang along with the violinist circling the crowd playing Ani Maamin.
A special tribute song was played in memory of the late Reuven Yosef Tatatrka A”H for his generosity and support and in appreciation of the continuing support from the Tatarka family.
A Plaque was presented to Mr. Yosi Spigelman for his generous donation towards the printing and publishing of Harav Beck’s Seforim Veyatzev Avrohom. This plaque was presented by Reb Bentzion Yeshaya Fixler the driving force of the publishing of Harav Beck’s Seforim. Dr. Mendl Monk and Reb Chaim Meir Goldberger also received a special mention for all their help and support towards this important project.
Dr. Yonason Pinzcower was presented with a large bottle of wine (Kos Shel Beracha) by Harav Beck in appreciation for his devotion and care towards the Adass Community.
On the night, the rights to the Benching were auctioned with Philanthropist Mr Saul Spigler being the successful bidder for the amount of $10,000. All major sponsors received a special bottle of wine from HaRav Beck personally.
After benching the crowd danced and enjoyed more lebedig music and singing by Meir Adler and the choir.
An EP of 4 new songs was released in anticipation of the dinner. The general theme of the songs is of course “Hodoah” – with 3 songs based on words from Nishmas and Modim. The songs were composed especially for the evening by yungerleit from Kollel Beis Yosef. A new Purim song was also specially composed for this album by Yumi Rosenbaum.
Music was arranged by Hillel Kapnick in Monsey NY, and the vocals were recorded at a Melbourne studio. A men’s and boys’ choir also feature on all the tracks, which adds alot to the overall quality of the project.
The album starts with “Berino Yispoar”, a fast dancing song, followed by “Ad Heino”, a slow hartzig tune, then “Modim” a leibedig Hora song, and finally “Kimi Vekibli” a fast Purim tantz nigun.
