Minister of Homefront Affairs Avi Dichter, who was appointed to replace Matan Vilnai, Israel’s new ambassador to China, speaks of the Iranian threat faced by Israel today, a threat that he views as “existential”.
By all accounts Dichter is qualified for the post after over four decades of service since entering the IDF as a young man, citing he took his oath at the Kosel and has not forgotten his responsibilities.
“I have dedicated my entire adult life to defending the homefront as a combat soldier, officer and minister” he explains, but warns Israel’s enemies have improved capabilities as well and the threats facing us today are unprecedented.
He explains that with three children and four grandchildren, his feeling of mission has reached eight on the Richter scale.
