This is a really tragic event, no matter whether the owner is a yid, a goy, frum or frei. Water damage from these kinds of flooding events may not be covered by insurance (unless the property has obtained special federally subsidized flood zone insurance). The cleanup costs can be massive since the water migrates up drywall and wood and can result in mold growth within 48 hours. What is not clear is why there isn’t some kind of sump pump system since it obvious from the photo that the property is below-grade .
