US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro visited the Mir Yerushalayim, Tuesday morning.
Ambassador Shapiro was given a tour of the Batei Midrashim by Rav Nachman Levovitz, and Rav Binyomin Carlebach, and met with the new Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Lazer Yudel Finkel at the home of Rav Nosson Tzvi Finkel ZATZAL – which is just around the corner from the Yeshiva.
The Ambassador even sat down in the Bais Medrash to talk to some Bochrim and Yungerliet.
Ambassador Shapiro previously met with HaGaon HaRav Aaron Leib Shteinman Shlita, as was reported in October by YWN Israel. In that video, the Ambassador addressed the Gadol HaDor in Hebrew.

Is the honorable ambassador shnorring votes among the American bachurim of Mir?
Shnooring what votes? They’re more then 10 months away from election day. Most yungerlit don’t even know who he “works” for. They probably thought he’s a big contributor. As far as Why Dan Schapiro stopped in the Mir? Probably for the same reason Howard Schultz of Starbucks did- it’s a beautiful and impressive Mosid Hatorah. Call it a tourist attraction. Call it the largest congregation of english speaking Americans in Israel, call it whatever you want- I’m glad he took the time to visit. Yes, the Learning of Torah is helping to protect the inhabitants of Eretz Yisroel even in ways we don’t understand.
