Meah Shearim resident Yosef Meir Chazon has been remanded and remains in jail after being arrested on Wednesday, 26 Cheshvan. The suspect is allegedly connected to violence in the Meah Shearim area attributed to sikrikim, as was reported by YWN-ISRAEL.
Police on Wednesday requested to remand Chazon for six days, but the court only agreed to hold in him custody until erev Shabbos, 28 Cheshvan. Police explained that it has taken six months to apprehend him due to the difficulties associated with operating inside Meah Shearim, thereby explaining the request to remand him to custody for six days as the investigation moves along, but the court did not comply.
Following is a video circulating on the Internet allegedly placing the suspect at several protests and violent acts.
