Rabbinical sage Yitzhak Kedouri was rushed to a Jerusalem hospital on Sunday morning in critical condition after suffering severe pneumonia. Israel Radio later reported that the rabbi’s condition stabilized after he arrived at the hospital.The rabbi had been unconscious and reported to be in an unstable condition “on the verge of a complete system breakdown” when he was hospitalized. Sources in the Bikur Holim Medical Center said the rabbi arrived at hospital in a state of medical shock.”The rabbi’s condition is not stable and doctors are making great efforts to stabilize it,” the sources said.Kedouri is considered a leading Kabbalist with mystical powers. Even at his advanced age, Kedouri is sought out for blessings by believers suffering from illnesses or seeking heavenly favors.”Thousands and thousands of people have benefited from his blessings – cancer patients, heart patients, couples without children,” said Moshe Nimni, his chief aide. Prominent rabbis and their followers were praying for Kedouri’s health, Nimni told Army Radio.Israel Radio said the Iraqi-born Kedouri is 108 years old, but Nimni said he was at least 112.
