Message from Baltimore Shomrim: As a result of recent incidents in the Falstaff neighborhood, some requiring medical attention, Baltimore Shomrim has increased Yom Tov and Shabbos presence on our streets.
In response, mobile units were dispatched to patrol those streets and were in constant communication with the Baltimore City Police. We notified the area Shuls of these incidents so that their mispalelim could exercise extra caution while walking our streets.
In addition, on Wednesday evening (second day of Yom Tov) Shomrim mobilized a street foot patrol along with several mobile units, and a K-9 unit. There were a total of more than 15 units patrolling the streets at that time. This resulted in the arrest of 1 of the youths.
To date, two suspects have been identified and apprehended and Baltimore City Police detectives continue to work this case. Police have assigned additional officers to this post along with additional patrols and a helicopter surveillance. Although there will be additional officers, we ask pedestrians to walk on the major thoroughfares and not through alleyways and shortcuts.
We would like to thank THE BALTIMORE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT for their quick response and actions taken to ensure our safety.
Thank You,
Shomrim Of Baltimore
