Communications Minister Ariel Atias of Shas approved two new radio stations Tuesday; Sephardic-Torah radio, and West Bank radio. The new stations were directed towards the two populations that do not listen to any other radio channels. Many pirated stations, catering to settlers and the Sephardic audience, had been launched throughout the years.
The sources said that the ministry’s monitoring department did its best to deal with the issue, and shut down the illegal stations, which interfered with communication between airplanes and control towers, constituting a big security risk.
