Kikar Shabbos: Policeman injured in Hafganah

A policeman was lightly wounded on Sunday afternoon when he was struck by rocks thrown by people in Kikar Shabbos in Yerushalayim. Media reports said the demonstrators were protesting the rerouting of public transportation through the Mea Shearim neighborhood because of the construction of the light rail. However, Arutz 7 quoted a local source which said the protesters were angry about the El Al flight that took off from London after the start of Shabbos on Friday night.

  1. Actions like these really go a long way to help people see your side of an issue. And not just a specific issue, but your side of life. Rock throwing has been proven to be a very successful kiruv tool.

  2. Unfortunately this is a Chilul Hashem people say that the Charedim always find what to demonstrate about & if the reason is ElAl, how is it gonna help to demonstrate on Kikar Shabbat?

  3. Horrible & Horrible.
These rock throwers can not be called, once again, “fringe elements of extremists”. We have a problem, to burn down a store in geulah that the clothing is nontzinius (according to who?), beat up a woman on a bus, pelt stones at an Egged bus busing children to school (only mehedrein allowed), burning and destroying public property, assaulting police in ramat bet shemesh, embracing Jew haters, defacing signs that are not to my liking. We have a problem called ADULTS WHO ARE A RISK, they need yireis shamayim therapy and mentors to model. The kavod shem shamayim is being lowered daily by these hooligans.
