The Real Estate Networking Event was held this past Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Great Hall at Cipriani in NYC. The funds are being raised for construction of a new state-of-the-art building for the Special Children’s Center. The event concept and inspiration for the evening were the innovation of Event Chairman, Mr. Stanley Chera, a real estate mogul and magnanimous philanthropist for The Center. The honoree for the evening, Mr. Joe Cayre, is a close friend and generous supporter of The Center and the children with special needs. An award was presented to Mr. Jeff Sutton, a constant, longtime loving benefactor, who is always so warm and encouraging. Mr. Larry Silverstein delivered a special address where he expressed both his profound awe of The Center – how they go the extra mile to love and care for the children and the earnest need for the public to support this critical endeavor.
The hosts for the evening were real estate leaders Michael Cayre, Jeff Sutton, Gary Barnett, Mark Karasick, Avi Schron, Alex Adjmi and Reuven Wolf. The grandiose room was decorated in red by party planner Norma Cohen. The room was filled with attendees who are leading real estate entrepreneurs. The Special Children’s Center is, all that it is because of the support and love of its founding committee, Harry Adjmi, Richie B. Dweck, Elliot Tawil and Dr. Gayle Krost since its inception.
The Special Children’s Center provides around the clock respite care for children with special needs and their families. They currently service over 450 children and have outgrown their current building. Parents of special-needs children face the monumental task of dividing their time and attention between the special child and his siblings, especially at times when there is no school, when all are vying for their parents’ attention. The Special Children’s Center alleviates this overwhelming burden while providing the children with an environment that is warm, nurturing, and productive.
The cost of the new state of the art building is $10 million dollars. The night’s event Chairman Stanley Chera, Principal of Crown Acquisitions, spoke straight from his heart with tears in his eyes, of the importance of the organization. Larry Silverstein described how he was first introduced to the organization by Joe and Michael Cayre, who took him on a 19-minute chopper ride to view their New Jersey Center and how it transformed his life. Mr. Silverstein was amazed by the love and care devoted to each child by their staff and volunteers. After this incredibly moving speech, he presented an award to Joe Cayre, who thanked Larry and gave him a corresponding award. As if all of this wasn’t emotional enough, we were treated to the music of superstar performer Yaakov Shwekey who sang with Olivia, a girl with Down syndrome, whose dream is to perform on stage. As tears came to the eyes of many attendees, other adorable children from The Center joined the fun and danced and sang on stage. As the crowd began to leave the Grand Hall at Cipriani on the outskirts of Wall Street, there is no doubt that the world of children with special needs left an indelible impression on all of those in attendance.
