Rachel Smith, from North Potomac, along with her friend Rachel Crites, have been missing since Friday, January 19 2007. They were going to a movie in Georgetown and haven’t been seen since.
Rachel Smith, who is currently a junior at Wootten High School, also ran track last year. She is 5’1″ tall and weighs about 118 lbs. She has green eyes and medium-length brown hair.
Rachel Smith is 16 years old. Her mom, Marian, is a preschool teacher at B’nai Tzedek. Marian just learned today that the last phone call she received from her daughter on Friday afternoon was actually traced to a cell tower in Charlestown, WV — so the girls could be anywhere at this point.
They were last known to be traveling in a dark blue Subaru Outback Station Wagon with a black cargo box on the roof. The license plate number is MD: MBJ 485.

We must say Tehillim for the girls. They should be added to the Tehillim lists as soon as possible. Their situation should have been made public much earlier. This is 10 days already but with the help of HaShem and our tefilos, they will be found and unharmed.
It seems from the name and the parents names that one of the girls is not Jewish.

Solomon….Is it possible,perhaps, that the parents are gairim?? You can no longer determine, simply from last names ,who is Jewish and who isn’t – those days are over.
Does it matter if they are both Jewish or not, we are all G-Ds children and if any child calls out for help, do you first ask for ID to check their background. I hope not.
These chidlren where they have been abducted, G-D forbid, or have run away are still at risk and it is upon all of us to pray for them regardless of background.
We live in a christian country and it is by their kindness that the laws come to protect us all, we must remeber this is Galus and we are only guests here. Just as we are obligated to honor the government where we live, see Parhsa BO where Moshe honor Pharoh, we are obligated to pray for all children to be safe and secure.
Crites, is a roman catholic, and sings in the choir at the local catholic church in Gaithersburg.

Furthermore, lets not forget how many ‘chasidei umos haolom’ there were and are who protected Jews during very difficult times. They did not hesitate even
when they knew they were risking their lives. It wasN’t an issue at the time whether these righteous Gentiles were Jewish or not, so why should religion be an issue NOW,,,???
I know Troy Crites personally. He is not Jewish. I don’t know the mother.
