  1. BDE. Rav Breier’s story was quite interesting as I remember – I believe he was a psychologist and/or a professor at YU and although he adhered to the Boyan/Rizhin chassidus, he had no interest in the rebbestve for himself but agreed to send his son to prepare for the position. His son shlita (is his name Reb Yisroel?? Reb Mordechai?? it escapes me for some reason.) is known to be one of the most effective and respected Chassidishe rebbeim of this generation.

  2. Rabbi Breier’s passing is a shock to many, especially to my family. We feel honored and privileged to have known such a “Gadol Hador.” Rabbi Breier was a scholar both in limudei kodesh and limudei chol. His love for a his fellow Jew was both admirable and rare. Despite, Rav Breier’s intillect and great tzidkus, he was a tremendous anav. He was a sincere person who represented EMES and Tzidkus. His lev tov and yiras shamayim are impossible to describe. In fact, trying to describe his tzidkus would be an injustice since it’s impossible to comprehend his madrega. His advice and soft spoken words were always comforting and will remain with all who knew him. His passing leaves a great void in our hearts. One doesn’t come accross a tzadik like Rav Breier often. Sometimes, we don’t appreciate what we have until it’s gone. No one can ever replace Rabbi Breier. His sincerity and true understanding of Yidishkeit are rarely, if ever, found in today’s frum world. His death leaves us mourning, yet I feel comforted in knowing that his neshama is in gan eden right next to the kisei hakavod. May he be a meilitz yosher for his wife, children, grandchildren and all of Klal Yosroel. It was a zechus to know a tzadik like Rav Menachem Breier Alav Hashalom.

  3. Reb Menachem was the son of the Stefeneshte Rav, Rav Yosef Breyer Z”L, and the son in law of the Boyaner Rebbe Z”L. Reb Menachem was his father in law’s right hand and along with his brothers in law the Rebbe Z”L’s sons the biggest chassidim of the Rebbe Shlit”a on the same token the Rebbe Shlit”a showed the greatest kovod for his father which taught all the younger chassidim to what extremes one must go to to honor and respect their fathers. the love that shined between them and the kovod they gave each other was a lessonfor all to learn and something out of the ordinary to see. neither reb menachem or his brothers in law had any ideas of being Rebbeand were over joyed when Reb Menachem’s younger son after much pressure agreed to be the mamshich of Mamleches Rizhn -Boyan
Reb Menachem wrote a book on the Rizhner Dynasty published byArtscroll and he put out the Chidushei Maharal MiPrague on Tanach. He was a talmid chochom as well as a professor of secular studies.
he is survived by his rebbetzin, his son the Rebbe Shlita(R’ Nochum Dov), his son Yisroel Avrohom Yigal and his daughter Mrs. Gedaliah Block as well as many grandchildren and great Grandchildren.
May his memory be a blessing to all whose lives he touched

  4. I was not priviledged to know the niftar, ZTz”L, but the Rebbe (YLChT”A) visited our community on several occasions, as he has mishpochah here. If the Rebbe is any reflection of his father, the the niftar was a great man who was mashpiyah on the klal.
