A robbery and carjacking just occurred in Boro Park at 1718 45th Street. An administrator of a private school was robbed and his car taken at gunpoint.
The vehicle that was taken was a 2007 brand new black Envoy, and the perpetrator is a male black. The vehicle’s On-star was activated and with the assistance of multiple NYPD Precincts, Aviation, Flatbush and Boro Park Shomrim he was tracked into Flatbush. After a brief foot pursuit he was arrested on Ralph Avenue and Avenue O.

shomrim tracked and nabbed, via onstar.
Shomrim didn’t track nothing and nobody!! Onstar told the NYPD where the car was/is and B”H Shomrim didn’t get in the way!!
Please, let us not start a whole machlokes here about who did or did not help! I am sure all the readers of this website are aware of the constant tragedies that are being posted on nearly a daily basis! We have to change something about ourselves, because things are not going well for Klal Yisrael. Perhaps we can each try to improve our mentschlichkeit – let us speak, act, and write nicely to each other. Perhaps if Hashem sees how nice we can treat each other, He will have rachamim on us. Just like a parent loves to see his or her children get along nicely, Hashem, our Father, loves to see the same thing. Perhaps, then, He can treat us like a loving Father.
we must credit shomrim regardless.
Gold says: ….Perhaps we can each try to improve our mentschlichkeit…”
How right you are! When you heard the last juicy story about someone in the Frum oilem with a problem, did it make you feel better that you weren’t in their situation? Did you rationalize it and say – well that person deserves it because….? Did you believe everything that was told to you? This is Sinas Chinom in action. It might be you next Ch”V.
Thank you Gold, those were golden words!
Der fin Oiven is watching.
We will credit them when they do something or when they deserve it!!
gold is right but it is not only what you see on this website it more then that their r so many bad things going on out their so let us all take the words that gold said and so it
i agree with velvil (i dont wanna put down the shomrim)
i just think they get alot more credit than whats actually coming to them!!
I AGREE 100% WITH VELVIL, WHEN SHOMRIM DONT GET INVOLVED EVERTHING WORKS OUT BETTER, IM NOT SAYING THAT YOU ARE WRONG (GOLD) BUT IS FOR HOCKING PURPOSES ONLY AND SOMTIMES THEY GET LUCKY AND DO SOMTHING GOOD FOR THE JEWS
Now let me clear up some things
The police actually got the robber but Shomrim contacted onstar and had the Sergeant speak with them. Meaning that without the Shomrim the car were most probably still missing
The Shomrim knew the onstar account number, but the owner didn’t? And I’m sure he would never have thought of calling onstar on his own either. And the police wouldn’t have asked him. Therefore, the car would still be missing.
Ok, everyone! Let’s get on to something else more productive. Use your keyboard to send someone a nice email and brighten their day!!
hatzolah gets all the credit.
I think it was chaveirim who saved the day….the guy who stole the car died down and called chaveirim…so they contacted police….LOL…who in the world cares who it was.
thank you for your GOLDEN words, Sir Gold!
Chaverim, Hatzolah, Shomrim, NYPD, FBI, etc…… messengers of gd!!! Pick the winning candidate and be happy!!
Remeber, shomrim, chaverim or hatzolah are volunteers. If they are making their time available they should be given credit. Even the police call them “the eyes and ears of the community”. Whether or not they were instrumental in catching the guy is irrelevant. What matters is they left their job or family on a call and were there even as moral support.
Kol Hakavod to all the organizations. What did we do 20-30 years ago without them?
thanks, sayitlikeitis, and all others who agree!
… it is actually Ms. Gold!
Moshe, 20-30 years ago we davened to the RBS”O.
Joseph
First you say how much Hakoras Hatov we owe to shomrim and Hatzoloh, now you say that 30 years ago, without them it didnt make adifference cos then we davned to the RBS’O. What are you saying exactly????
was davening WITHOUT these shlichim good enough, or are we NOT davening enough currently cos we DO have the shlichim and if so, should they get the credit anyways??? make up your mind
I think Y.W. should now close comments because this is going way out of hand. Please post this comment so they now why Y.W. closed comments.
