The US to supply Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade with weapons

militant.jpgA unified Palestinian security force financed, armed and trained by the United States is set to include members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, one of the most active, anti-Israel terror organizations. Also a spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees – a major Palestinian terror group – pledged in an interview to infiltrate U.S. training programs for Palestinians and to obtain American weapons provided to Palestinian forces.

On her visit here last week, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told reporters the U.S. will ensure weapons and aid reportedly being provided to militias affiliated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party will not be used to attack Israel.

The Bush administration reportedly will grant $86.4 million to strengthen the Fatah forces, including Force 17, Abbas’ security detail, which also serves as de facto police units in the Gaza Strip and West Bank.

The U.S. aid is meant to bolster Fatah, which the U.S. considers moderate, against Hamas. Fatah and Hamas have engaged in weeks of deadly factional clashes after Abbas’ call last month for new Palestinian elections in a move widely seen as an attempt to dismantle the Hamas-led PA.

Rice said the U.S. is working with Fatah to create a unified Palestinian security force, which she said would combine Fatah factions and afford more control over the distribution of aid and weapons.

Referring to the weapons previously supplied to Fatah with little control over distribution, Rice stated, “It was envisioned that the Palestinian Authority would have security forces. The problem is those security forces broke [up] into essentially personal militias under Arafat. They broke into too many that were often warring with each other.”

Rice announced U.S. military envoys in Israel created “a plan for security forces that can be part of the solution, not part of the problem. And this plan is not just to equip them and train them, [but] it is also to professionalize them, to unify them, to put them under a single command.”

“This is a train-and-equip program that is going to move over time,” Rice said, “so it is not as if you simply arm the Palestinians on Day One and then have no input or control over what happens from then on. I think as a result you can maintain some control on what is being done.”

  1. this is a chutzpah sh’ein k’digmosoh ! to arm the arabs what are they thinking ?
at last her true colors are finaly showing, i allways thaught that she was smart enough to hide her hatred of israel, i guess not, but it sure looks like bush hates them to or he would never let this happen

  2. We are our worst enemy. How can you allow this?Would anyone open fort knox and let a burglar in just because he “says” he only wants to “see” the gold/ Of course he will try to steal some as will these terrorists use the weapons against Isreal!!! We must write congress, senate, and anyone else with a conscience not to allow this to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. And the money gets funneled right back here to the US, as an overwhelming majority of Arab terrorists strongly support the Neturei Karta a/k/a Beck’istin a/k/a Jews for Mohammed. I guess in effect our tax dollars are to be used against us. So what else is new.

This plan, as horrible as it sounds, is still far better than Rabin’s instituted plans of immediate mass arming of terrorists.

    What say you?

  4. This seems to be more of adiplomatic move on the part of the U.S.
In light of all the recent crticism by our enemies of the Bush administration at war with Iraq under Israeli pressure and public accusations of Zionist power in America, maybe this was done to ‘calm the waters’ and show the world that the US wants to give EVERYONE in the Middle EAst a fair shake….
In any case, for now its just a plan, its not in motion yet.

  5. Real Klur
Its the only logical explanation for why our ‘good friends’ the USof A would
get invovled in something that seems like a stab in the back

  6. I’m not surprised.
The DEMOCRATS are in power now, did you forget ?
And by the way, they are not our best friends. I just can’t figure out why so many jews vote DEMOCRATIC.

  7. Jews vote DEMOCRATIC because its the popular party fro minorities, liberals and was always more Pro Israeli(with exceptions ofcours)
The Republican party HAVE the support of Jews who are basically in high income brackets.
