A Frum mother and a two year old child were R”L killed and five other family members injured, three of them seriously, in a head-on collision on the Arava Highway (approximately 50 Kilometers north of Eilat) late Wednesday night. Two medevac choppers transported the injured to Soroka Hospital in Beersheva. The family is from Har Nof.
The father and his two children who were wounded will be transferred via private chopper from the Soroka hospital in Be’er Sheva to the Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Yerushalayim this morning.

Tragedy after tragedy in automobile accidents.
The country must adopt better driver and traffic safety courses, it should be required that every driver take Driver Education & Defensive Driving classes. Most head-on crashes are caused by high speeds, DWI, road conditions, & subsequently losing control of the vehicle.
sHe happened to be a chozer betshuvah orig from Canada who Married Ami Popper in 1993. Ami Himself was a chozer betshuvah and is sitting and learning now and teaching others
i fully agree to bklynmom and its interesting that 98% of road accidents are because of speed- SPEED KILLS- so you’ll get there 3 minutes after but at least in 1 piece…..i think every driver should take this seriously into account….
Your right we must protect ourselves as much we can. ‘Ushmartem es nafshosechem’. However lets not forget that whatever is Min Hashomayim cannot be controlled down here.
I agree with the above responses, there has to be a huge crackdown on israeli roads, people drive like maniacs with no care for anyone else. The responsibility relies very much with the police for not policing the traffic laws.
By the way-i have this program-which many of you might have on your palm-its called “Speed Value”.It calculates how much time you save by speeding by putting in the speed limit….distance..Traveling from Brooklyn to Lakewood for example,with the average speed limit@65,and you doing 80-you will save approximately 10 minutes.Now,ask yourself-are those ten minutes worth your First and formost-Your Safety- blood pressure ….getting pulled over(spending those hours in court fighting the $2-300 bux…and points..)In my opinion-its just not worth those 10 minutes-Leave 10 minutes earlier.
VERY SAD, I hope people come out & help this father get back on his feet after such a tragedy.
It’s true that in ISRAEL people drive a little faster and wilder then here in the states,but it should still be a lesson for everybody – anywhere to SLOWDOWN and drive carefull, it just doesn’t pay, – the RISK is to high.
I believe he is serving 7 life sentences, he was free for a 48 hour break.

I heard that it was said by the levaya that he had a dream recently & he saw 1 small body bag & 1 large body bag, he asked his rov to ask reb chaim k shlita what this means…

I totally agree that Israel should encourage (maybe force) everybody to take defensive driving classes etc…
What do you mean “is sitting and learning now and teaching others” isint he serving 7 life terms in prison? I think he was let out of prison for 2 days when the accident happened.
