We simply cannot ignore this urgent request on behalf of gedolei Torah –Bein Hazmanim is beginning next week and we must raise the money we need in the zechus of Rav Elyashiv zt”l, Rav Chaim shlit”a, and these young men on the fringe whose Torah learning will be a shmira for us all…Our generation has so many young people who are on the fringe, hanging by a delicate string between the Torah derech and the pleasures of the world. Bein hazmanim is the time of the year when bochurim who might otherwise be learning are out in the streets. One of the last things that Rav Elyashiv zt”l did in his life was establish a kollel for these boys to learn during bein hazmanim.
Now, in continuing with his father in law’s legacy, the choshuve Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlit”a oversees this program. He has promised that all those who donate will be gaining a special shmira for their children and that their names will be added to a list that he will be mispallel for at the kever of Rav Elyashiv zt”l. The kollel will be learning Sefer Derech Emunah at Rav Chaim’s request, as a shmira for all of klal yisroel.There is no person in klal yisroel who is guaranteed safety — We need the shmira of this talmud Torah and for these young yidden to be kept off of the streets.
