This is nuts and may be connected to some internal dispute among those who run the main shul. Don’t bid, even as a joke.
Attention Y.W.editor: What is the purpose of this posting? (are u getting a commission on the sale)
It,s fine to auction the aliya, but can someone explain the $507 shipping charge!?
looks fishy this guy never sold ANYTHING before
typical Chabad nonsense!!
To Mr. Hehreich:
the $507 shipping is for the Kidush.
Ebay quote:
“beside the aliya you must pay for a kidush in 770 downstairs that kidush is $500.00 and takes place after davening is completed being charged as shipping “.
Mr. Hehreich can you explaine the meaning of your log in name?
yeh that and the rebbe is still alive.
hehreich!!!!! if you would’ve just read a few lines further you would’ve seen that the shipping chargecovers the cost of the kiddush you have to give which costs $500
As a Gabbai (par excellance) I love this idea. I can pre-sell all the aliyos befor the yomim tovim.
My life would be alot easier.
You can give it to the Rebbi!!!
A shul in Teaneck did indeed sell its aliyas for the Tishrei yamim tovim via Ebay, but this does not look like a legitimate auction, and there is no guarantee the money will go to the right people. There are disputes among various people in the main 770 shul and this looks like the work of someone out to take advantage of the disputes.
As a Lubavitcher Chossid i can definately assure you that it is not the Gaboim of 770 selling the Aliyah, for all the Aliyos are traditionally sold on Shabbos Bereishis.
I was in 770 on SHabbos B’reishis this year when they sold this year’s chazak aliyah for parshas vayechi.
Yes you can give it to the rebbe directly…as long as you can get past the security which is by the tzion because of the death threats in the recent years….lol
In the sellers payment instructions it says that it “must be fully paid for by thursday january 2007 3 pm”. JANUARY WHAT DATE? IN 2007
maarava: maybe the bayer from parshas breysis is selling it?
does the ribono shel olam want the torah to be auctioned on ebay?
is it the right thing to spend so much money on things like this? mezonosov shel odom ketsuvin lo……..
rabbi y,
Is it the right thing to spend so much time or money on the Internet (for your connection), blogging?
I’m not Lubavich, but the way some of you guys are making fun of Lubavich is just not nice.
