The Mobile station which is located next to the Co-Op on Route 88, which was always approximately 30 cents higher than the cheaper stations, was taken over by Valero, which is right now standing @ 2.19 a gallon!!
at last check singin (delta) station on madison avenue(rt 9) and gas stop station on w kennedy were selling gas also @ 2.19 a gallon- why valero?
Yes, but BEWARE:
I will bli neder not patronize that gas station anymore.
Although almost all gas stations seem to be owned by people from Islamic countries, when I walked into the building to pay, Al Jezeera or some other Islamic television station was playing, with some mufti or shiek giving a speech, and there were several pictures of similar people hanging in the room.
I know that every Muslim may not be a terrorist, but I was VERY uncomfortable, and felt like i was directly funding some group that wishes I was not around.
There are other cheap gas places, like the BP down Route 9 South. I don’t know whether they are any different, but I do know what this particular one is like.
It is worthy to note that, although many people in the NY area do not know, this is not a no name brand. They are the largest refining company in the USA.
I was told that it IS a no-name company.
The fact that it may be a large refinery doesn’t make their gas good.
Maybe an expert can comment on this.
ALso, this is not a new development. The switch took place four weeks ago.
buying from a frum yid may not be the cheapest, but is the most cost effective
