The United States has vetoed a UN Security Council initiative to condemn Israel after an IDF operation in Beit Hanoun, in which 19 Palestinians were killed. The initiative also called for a UN team to investigate the incident. The United Kingdom, Denmark, Japan and Slovakia abstained from voting on the issue. All other members of the Security Council voted in favor.
