A Jewish cemetery has been desecrated in central Czech Republic, police said Monday.
Spokeswoman Eva Sichrova said that about 50 tombstones were overturned at the Jewish cemetery in the town of Zamberk, 120 kilometers (75 miles) east of Prague, over the weekend.
Some of the tombstones were broken, she said.
The cemetery, dating to the early 18th century, is no longer used for burials and was completely renovated in the 1990s.
