A Washington synagogue has received a $5 million gift from one of its members. The gift to the Adas Israel Congregation came from Donald Saltz, in honor of his late wife, who died last year. It’s the largest contribution in the Congregation’s 140-year history, and experts say it’s one of the largest individual donations to a house of worship in the United States in years. Interestingly, his wife was among those taken hostage in 1977 by a Muslim group.–YW Editor.

Shul? It is a conservative house of worship – don’t let the name fool you – do a google search as I do not want to post their website here.
Call it what you want. The guy tried. He will get SchAr for that, at least
How do you know Hashem’s cheshbon? He donated his money to an institution that is machti es harabim – and for what purpose? To enlarge their building and get his name on it?
Of course he is a tinok shenishba, and the fact is that unzere chessed organizations, especially the ones in Eretz Yisroel that do not discriminate based on beliefs or practices, should have contacted him so that he would get schar by giving to a real tzedaka, but he has now enabled wider spread of apikorsus. And coming from a conservative background, I can tell you there is no greater apikorsus and rishus than this busha veklima called conservative “Judaism.”
