A woman who tried to help her son flee prosecution for the 2004 firebombing of the United Talmud Torah Elementary Skver school in Montreal was handed a one-year probation for her crime.
Quebec Court Judge Robert Marchi ruled in September that Rouba Elmerhebi Fahd was guilty of trying to arrange for her son to escape to Brazil to avoid prosecution for his crime.
However, the Crown asked for a sentence of community service, even though she could have faced up to seven years in prison.
Marchi decided against community service, citing Fahd’s lack of remorse, but also pointed out that he could see how a mother might act in such a way for their children.
Adam Atlas said on behalf of the Canadian Jewish Congress: “The judge, I think, was sensitive to that balance and taking into consideration all the factors, rendered a mild sentence.”
Moise Moghrabi of B’nai Brith Canada says it’s not even a slap on the wrist. “It tells the public there is no deterrent,” he said.

Antisemetic french-Canadians!!!!
wonder how’d they react if someone bombed a french ecole. fat-headed quebecers
As one of the requirements of the nations is that they set up courts to administer justice, Marchi has failed one of his few Mitzvos. Even if he observes the others, he will be destroyed in Gehinom, together with the prosecuters who did not pursue a jail sentence.
It was not the mother of the Skver Yeshiva firebomber who was sentenced to one-year probation, but the mother of the United Talmud Torah elementary school (UTT). They are two separate schools. Please make the correction. Having said that, I wonder if chas v’chalilah someone would have died, if the judge would have rendered the same verdict? This mother abdicated her role as mother and shows no remorse as well. She’s just as anti-semitic as her son. It’s a disgusting decision and a complete miscarriage of justice!
