• 07:30 – A number of rockets landed near Netiv HaAsarah. No injuries were reported.
POLITICS, DOMESTIC & MORE:
• Firefighters in Yerushalayim on Friday morning successfully extricated eight people who were trapped in a factory fire in the Har Chotzvim area. Two of the victims sustained light injuries. Fire marshals are inspecting to determine the cause of the blaze.
• Elad: An infant’s finger was traumatically amputated when a door slammed on his hand. He was transported to Sheba Medical Center.
• A pedestrian was moderately injured on Cholon’s Chazit Street after being struck by a car. Ayalon district MDA personnel responded.
• A vehicle traveling on the Geha Road went up in flames near Aluf Sadeh Junction in the direction of Tel Hashomer Hospital on Friday morning. No injuries.
• Large brush fires reported on Friday afternoon in the Jordan Valley, Mesilat Tzion, and Givat Ada. Fire planes are involved in efforts to bring the blazes under control.
• Lebanon: Prime Minister designate Fouad Siniora began talks towards establishing a national unity government which will include Hamas.
• PM Ehud Olmert will be meeting with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) prior to leaving for Washington on Monday to allay fears surrounding the police investigation against him.
• Tel Aviv residents are urged to boil water after water sampling indicated the current state of the city’s water is non-potable. The water alert applies to areas between Ibin Gvriol Street on the northern boundary, King David Blvd. to the south, Weizman Street to the east and Bloch Street to the west.
• PA sources report that a 60-year-old woman wounded by IDF fire on Thursday night died of her wounds. IDF sources report they did not fire in the area.
• According to German mediator working towards obtaining the release of IDF soldiers, they are most likely no longer alive.
