INN: A rocket attack was launched at Sderot Monday night even as IDF troops amassed on the border in preparation for an incursion into Gaza to rescue an IDF soldier kidnapped during a terror attack Sunday morning. Three Kassam rockets were fired at the western Negev from northern Gaza. Two fell in an open field, but one scored a direct hit on an electricity pole in Sderot, causing injuries as well as damage. Four people were injured by flying shrapnel. They were evacuated by Magen David Adom to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. MDA officials said that two more residents were treated at the scene for cardiac distress and eleven others treated for shock. The explosion caused a power outage throughout the city. More than 200 residents gathered in front of the home of Defense Minister Amir Peretz to protest the government�s continuing inability to protect them. One person was arrested during the demonstration, which continued past midnight.
