INN: Colon cancer victims have ended their 16-day hunger strike following their acceptance of government promises to subsidize cancer drugs.

The government still has not solved the problem of which budget will be cut to pay for the drugs. The Kadima-Labor party coalition is facing its worst crisis since its formation because of threats of Defense Minister Amir Peretz, who also is chairman of the Labor party, to fight attempts to finance the medicine at the expense of the defense budget.
