Playing Ball Then Going To Daven
One is supposed to prepare himself properly before one davens to Hashem. Therefore, after one has finished playing ball he must make sure that he washes up and changes his clothes not to make it look like one just came out of the gym and now he is going to daven to Hashem. This is not kovod for davening. The same applies to davening with ones shirt out. It might be hot in the summer but that is no excuse for davening with one’s shirt out of his pants.
Tzar Baley Chaim – Paining Animals
During the summer many insects make there way in to peoples homes and can be very annoying. Many poskim say that there is no issur in killing insects or flies if there are bothersome to a person. One is permitted to hang up sticky paper on the wall etc. so that they should be killed. One is also permitted to use an electric fly killer. On Shabbos this may not be done because of the melacha of trapping. One is permitted to place insect repellent on his hands etc, before going outside on Shabbos to avoid being injured by insects. One should tell children not to pain animals. This is very common in the summer when children play near ponds etc.
