My daughter in Lakewood sent me this recipe the same week that another daughter made it at a friend’s house! It seems to be making the rounds – and, having tasted it last Shabbos, I see why.
1 package (not one box) graham crackers (about 8)
1-1/2 sticks margarine (3/4 cup), melted
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup chocolate chips
1/3 cup chopped slivered almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place graham crackers on lined cookie sheet. Combine melted margarine and brown sugar until sugar is dissolved (or almost dissolved). Pour on top of crackers. Bake for 10 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips across graham crackers. Bake for 2 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately spread melted chocolate across whole. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cool. Freeze until hard; crack into different sized brittle-like pieces. Enjoy!
